I'm glad they put 2 bottle limits for these - I'll be in the area in early July for a swim race in Lake Memphremagog, hopefully they'll still have some! Fingers crossed.

Not sure on bottle counts for anything but for what it's worth, Norma started as a two bottle limit and they knocked it down to one after the release day so it would last longer than three days.

I'm hoping they'll last at least until the weekends. And a swim race might be a great excuse to head up there...

I hope Shaun is going to compensate everyone who can't make it up there on Wednesdays for the releases.

Obviously not speaking for Shaun, but I'd bet the bottle limits have been set so that these aren't gone in 1-2 days. The Norma limit was dropped specifically in response to the number of people who went up there on "release day," that Wednesday it hit shelves...in February...in a snowstorm...

Plus, if I recall an earlier iteration of the Bottle Release page on the HF site, the walnut sour being released this week originally listed a limit of 4 bottles...so really, he's already cut that down to 2.

For comparison, Juicy was a limit of 2 bottles and lasted like 2-3 weeks. Sure it stinks that you can't get all three of these in one release event, but I think that was a special deal to go along with the Anniversary Party, not something that would be typical going forward. After the Memorial Day-snow-ageddon happened, I expected a return to shelf releases for these. Time to use those sick days!

Mr. Norton, I don't know you, so I can't tell if you're trying to make a joke at the expense of the entitled folks out there who think somehow it's their natural right to be able to buy and drink whatever they desire.

    Joking, right? Please?

You Sir are correct! Referring to the people who were blaming him for cancelling the last release like the snow was in his control.

Does anyone have any guesses about whether these would make it to Saturday or the following week? Probably pretty tough to say I'm sure, but how long did Norma make it?

IIRC, Norma was on shelves for at least 2 weeks. Probably a bit longer than that though.

Norma was also in the winter when less people make trips, so compare at your own peril.

If any NYC folks are heading up for these releases and wants some gas/toll money and good conversation/silence BM me. 800 mile round trips are better with friends.

Norma was on the shelf for 4.5 days. 900ish bottles.

And right about now is when I start to regret being steadily employed during the summer. If anyone from Burlington wants to carpool up at any point for these, feel free to BM me

It's not surprising these turned into shelf releases considering the main reason the original release got canceled was due to the lack of parking. That field is not going to heal for awhile, so there's really not enough space to park a release full of cars without possibly causing more damage

Shaun! All these people went through hell and back just for the love of your beer and a potential release! Please consider changing this and put certain amounts of ALL 3 beers each staggered release, it makes more sense. Allow people to complete the set of each released beer in 1 trip to your brewery! Limit 1 or 2 each of the 3 beers.

Thanks for the suggestion, Jefeld. The decision is not merely mine, but that of the entire staff through more than a week of deliberation. The people to whom you refer (I think) were here for the Anniversary Party and had tickets in hand more than a month before the initial release was planned. Wheels are in motion for a larger release during the summer - ticketed - Alesmith style. 2 or 3 bottles. There are myriad reasons for each decision that we make - always thought through until wakeless nights/teeth grinding/greying hair/anxiety have gotten the best of us. Never a day that every person is happy - but we intend for the greatest good. Wait for July's release schedule...
