I go up often to buy growler fills. If I go up that day to get some limited release beers, does that mean I am doing it wrong? Let me know.

no need to be a jackass about it, i was just trying to post from someone who would also be purchasing growlers opinion. Sorry I was trying to put a different perspective on things, your right a line for bottles is the best option and if it fucks over people for growlers who cares because I can go whenever I want for the growlers...

It's the implied suggestion that people who might go up that day just for the bottles are whale hunters who can't get into the spirit of HF. Spare me, I'm not "over-thinking" things. It'll be a crazy day and if I could just get out quickly with 1 allotment, without taking away from anyone else, I would welcome the option. I'm not going to romanticize standing in a line.

My mistake, it seemed you were mocking my response when it should have been geared towards lukaduke? Either way I wouldnt go up to HF and not get my growlers filled and it has nothing to do with the spirit of HF its because its damn good beer.

You quoted him, which lead me to believe you were endorsing his position. I apologize for offending, I was simply defending the legitimate, IMHO, desire to only buy bottles from HF in certain circumstances. That's all.

We are releasing these beers on a Thursday (rather than Wednesday) because we have collaborative brews on both Tuesday and Wednesday with different European brewers (result of Shelton Festival). Thursday will be the first day that we have the infrastructure (free employees not focused on brewing) (and hopefully weather!) to support traffic and an influx of folks.

Bottle sales will take place under the pavilion (ie. event stage... but pavilion is a word I had never thought would enter my Greensboro vernacular/dialect - thus it is embellished!) with the addition of a 20'x20' tent in case of rain. Similar system as in the past - single file - pay/receive receipt - gather bottles - then leave or wait in growler line... It is unlikely that we will be offering tastings/samples during this time because of space/constraints/etc.

After the following 2 releases (Norma and now Prole/Elab), we feel that we have gathered enough data relative to traffic/patronage in order set the limit in such a way that the bottles will likely last until Saturday. Not a given. But likely. 400 people will have access to these bottles. This includes "per person/per day" for those that vacation in VT and visit Thursday/Friday/Saturday as well their grandmothers/uncles/girlfriends/dads that are utilized for acquisitions. We do not yet sell beer to pets - so dogs do not qualify as additional purchasing ammunition

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Hey Shaun, do you think the bottles from the June 27th release will last until July 3rd?

I am very conflicted about this release. I plan on going up on saturday 6/29, and while I desperately hope they last because Madness was one of my favorites at the anniversary festival, I also seriously hope they're gone because I'm so freaking broke.

Oh, so my plan to bring an actual mule won't result in more beer?

I'm a little bummed that this is set up to go through all the bottles in 3 days but HF needs to do what's best for its staff. Hopefully a couple bottles can stick around for Wednesday, July 3rd as someone else mentioned as I too plan on visiting that day!

Are you saying you are going to deny this face Madness & Civilization 2?

Babies: May gain you leverage in the tasting area. Or the parking lot. But Phil and Kerrie have never met a baby capable of weakening their resolve.
Mules: Interested in seeing someone actually transporting a mule into line at the retail shop. I think you could be certain that this actually would manage to get you something in return... please just make sure to clean up after yourselves.

July 3: No promises. Seems likely that a few bottles would still be around. We can't please everybody - although we always try our best. Our minimal warehouse space is quite cramped - and we still have Damon, Phenomenology of Spirit, Everett, Clara, and several other bottles to put forth before mid July...Need to make room.

Thanks for the answer! Regardless of what is or isn't there, I will be there to enjoy it and the Vermont Sun.

What if your baby was conceived on a trip to visit HF? He's 8 weeks old today and preventing me from visiting this summer :slight_frown:. Too much information?

Huh. I've had HF growlers for upwards of 2 weeks and have never ever cracked one that was flat, or any less tasty than it was the day I got it. Interesting take you have on that.
