Was this legitimately imported to the US?
    Thanks

In that a few bottles showed up on a shelf of a bottle shop I was in wherein I was happy to purchase said bottles, yeah

I found a bottle at a store here in the US as well. However, it had no markings indicating who the importer was, no deposit information, and the back label was only in French and Dutch.

Found in Brooklyn, and yes, legally imported. And extraordinarily expensive.

Coincidentally I just drank one last night, but mine came in on an order directly from Belgium. It was a very good gueuze.

Flemish and Dutch are the same language just different dialects.

Flemish is Dutch. Not sure if it made it to the states, but it is a damn good beer.

I paid $30 as well. But I still question why there was no marking from the importer.

I'd pay that no problem. The 2011 Mega Gueuze that I had was great.

The importer did announce that they would be bringing a small amount of HORAL over. Why market it a product that has a much higher demand than supply though?

That explains why you were able to find it.

I saw a few bottles in Queens over the July 4th weekend. I think most people just don't know what it is so when they see the high price tag they pass on it.

    Marking. Not marketing.

I was always under the impression imported bottles had to be labeled with the importer's name.

Yes it was, but not a lot. I believe it was imported via 12% Imports, so you can track where it went via them.
