Sweet pic. I bought a case of Narwhal to last me through the summer...and it almost made it. Great beer indeed.

    New beers tonight:

Very nice Quad as expected. All around nice balance of malt, plum, and fruity/spicy ester. I've had the full bottle lineup of Ovila, and they are all very nice; but they all lack something that really would make them great IMO. I think the yeast strain is the culprit(for me).

Excellent IPA. Big mango/pineapple/peach/citrus hops with moderate malt balance. Smooth and quite crisp. Well done.

I think the weather may tilt the balance towards San Diego

I decided to keep a bottle of Celebration around because I kept reading about how well it holds up. Well, after working a charity event weekend at the tattoo shop I work at & raising $21,000 for a local women's shelter, tonight felt like as good of a time as any to crack this open.

It has surprisingly held up better than I would have guessed. Still lots of hop bitterness & tasty. I'll have to buy lots more this year.

The one I had seemed to have a smoky flavor to it. Glad it wasn't just me.

    Finishers:

Narwhal is still doing great after a year as expected. A lot more dark/roasted complexity coming out, fresh it is a bit more hoppy.

Outstanding Tripel, seriously under the radar vs some other well known ones in the style. More people need to try this, it's in my top 10 for the style. So delicious and balanced.
