Jester King Brewery - 3rd Annual Funk & Sour Fest

We're tentatively planning to have them go on sale Thursday, 10/3. I'll post something on this thread and on our social media giving advance notice as to when tickets go on sale.

 

My wife and I will be there. Can't help with the Houston carpool though, as we will spend the night in Austin the night before.

Can somebody describe the event to me, not technically, 'experientially'; what was it like, how did it play out?
I'm imagining something like a normal JK day w/ bottle share (though I assume there is no bottle share at Funk and Sour), where many people sit around and a few large groups (>15) amass.

Very interested to see how JK chooses to do tickets and beer, as the inaugural one was $10 (and 5 or 6 samples?) and the second was $30 (and unlimited samples? Isn't 100% clear from blog post).

 

It's never been unlimited samples. Last year's fest was similar to brewery tours/tastings before the law changed. You got a sheet and after you sampled a beer, it got marked off on your list. Last year had more people than the first year. It was a good crowd. I didn't participate in the Sweet and Sour Soiree so I can't speak on that.

 

Hopefully beer will also beer for sale that day. Ill see how many more bombs I can wrangle up and get back to you all on that.

This year, because we can sell beer, you'll be able to order freely from the beers we'll have available. You won't be limited to a sampling list with one pour per beer. It's looking like tickets will go on sale Friday morning, but don't hold me to that at this point.
