This Saturday is the bottle release of Reuben's Brews Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. Only 442 bottles are available and will only be sold at the brewery. 11.9% ABV. Sounds awesome.

I'll ignore the fact that they provide a link to The Pour Fool's review and will try to pick up a bottle or two anyway.

Was waiting for this for months and they choose the one weekend I'm out of town. Guessing this won't last until Monday...

That sounds really good. I might try to trade for some. Call me "ISO".

I was afraid this thread might pop up....I have to work until 3 that day and I'm freaking out thinking I'm not gonna get any.

I suspect there will be significantly fewer than 442 bottles available to the general public because mug club members could reserve 4 bottles each. The reserved bottles will go back into the public pool if not picked up by Sunday. Even if bottles run out it's worth trying the barrel aged and regular versions on tap.

Also, for those keeping score at home, this Saturday it looks like it's Reuben's vs. Naked City, Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout vs. Big Lebrewski, Ballard vs. Greenwood.

    No rare beer my ass.

Big Lebrewski saw retail distribution, though. I bought one the other day.

Headed to Eugene tomorrow morning, so no Reuben's for me unless a friend can snag one.

I think I can get a friend to go, but I'll hit you up if he doesn't make it. Thanks!

Damn my paranoia is going to drive me insane! I can only hope that this will be a typical WA release, no insanity, big lines, etc. I'm thinking between 12-3 they shouldn't sell out....but still....I'M PANICKED!!!!

I was there for their first anniversary, where this and many more good beers were on tap—and it seemed almost like a normal Saturday. Not sure if I'll make it this weekend, but I kinda doubt it'll be insane.

Take a deep breath, and repeat after me: It's only beer. It's only beer. It's only beer.

Mmmmm. I think I'll be making a trip to Ballard tomorrow. Hopefully, there isn't much of a line/crowd.

Not really typical "retail distribution" when you can't find it anywhere in the city it was brewed in............
Guess I'll be running all around Ballard tomorrow to buy these at the source. I'm still completely mystified by beer distribution. I get that 99 bottles might get California and Oregon beers before Seattle, they are very, very slightly closer on the main freeway, but stuff brewed a mile from my house gets there two days faster too? Geez.

I found some mules down on 14th by their RV. Looks like I have positions 1 through 10 locked up.

LOL!! I was going to tell you to go read the HOTD Matt and Otto thread again if you think it's "just beer."
