The best beer bar in my area had 5 taps and a list of 100 bottled beers.

As others have stated....I remember when Pete's Wicked Ale was considered "cutting edge" and Guinness Pub Draught was "chewy".

I'd still love to get my grubby mitts on the original Pete's recipe...so good...

Drinking a sixer of Pete's with scrambled eggs for breakfast. Those were the days. Hard to believe Pete's was once upon a time I believe the second largest U.S. craft brewery.

Me and a friend were talking about this the other day. He manages the beer section at Buehler's and said maybe 5-6 years ago Three Floyds would just sit on the shelves collecting dust without anyone bothering with it. Three Floyds doesn't even usually make it onto the shelf here anymore.

-Rogue didn't get laughed at/shit on/come in ceramic swing tops

-Three Floyds was distributed to the mid-atlantic

-I drank a lot of Guiness, though preferred Beamish.

Those were great days! Anchor steam was my fancy light beer, and Pete's was my fancy dark. Back when I thought like that....

I do miss Pete's though....I bet it tastes a lot better in my memory than it would today though.

When I was in school, we drank a ton of high life also. It was $8 for a case of 24 bottles.

I will still grab some here and there....there is something very nostalgic about certain crappy beers

that's weird, why were people excited for lite beer? I get why people buy it, but I don't see why anyone would get all worked up about it.

Does BA still have the rules, that when you first join, you can only do 5 reviews in a 24hr time period, then after a certain amount, you can do 10 in 24hrs? I remember hitting those limits a lot.

I remember when my local festivals were all you could drink. When there was no line to get in and no one drank so much they fell flat on their face and sent their teeth skittering into my shoes.

I remember when there weren't bottle limits to get fresh hopped pale ales in Seattle (Cowiche Canyon).

I remember when Arlen Harris was one of, if not THE best brewer in Washington (and if he were still brewing he'd be amongst the best in the world).

I remember when we on BA cheered each other on to respect beer instead of advocating drinking a beer with breakfast.

    I remember taking Rogue seriously.

I remember when beer prices more accurately reflected supply and demand of malt/hops/etc.

I remember when none of us had heard of a beer called Heady Topper, and all of us yearned to get a hold of Masala Mama.

I remember tasting Dark Lord for the first time. I remember not ever wanting to have it again.

My first ever post was a question about whether the Samuel Adams Imperial Pilsner 2005 Harvest was still worth drinking…nearly two years after bottling. Yeesh.
