    Blasting what I'm now calling metal album of the year for me. If you're into folk/black/viking metal, do yourself a favor and check out Falkenbach's newest album Asa. It's a fucking masterpiece, his best album yet.



    Also, good news! I have a bunch of time to kill before I start grad school, and I just got hired at my favorite beer store! Pretty damn excited to start working there, it's by far the best craft beer store/bar within a laaaaaarge radius.

    Been drinking Celebration; only thing is, I was supposed to be saving that for Christmas Eve :grimacing:...

    So I went out this mornin' to replace what I consumed - picked up another sixer, gave three bottles to the three fellas workin' at the beer store :wink:, and used the remaining three to replace what I drank...

    Also picked up some extra stuff for me (as you can see), including a bottle of Talisker Storm Scotch whisky.

    And you'll have to pardon the aberration, but this is a damn fine bottle of Scotch, and it's what I'm drinking now...

    Brewed on the Isle of Skye - a "non-age statement" Scotch - meaning, it has whisky from both young and old Talisker casks...

    Lots of peat and smoke, with tropical fruit, honey and spice characteristics - a real treat for a Scotch enthusiast

    I'll be back to beer soon enough.

    Having a local brewed Legend Marzen [not shown] while enjoying my newly adopted cat Mazurka (hey, it almost sounds like "Marzen"!) who joined my household yesterday as a "Christmas present" to my beagle, who was adopted & brought home earlier this month.
    As you can see the kitty is settling right in -- into the canine's own crate that is~

    I'm with you. Finally found it in the store and, delivery of promise did *not* exceed heightened anticipation.

    Oh my. Every time I hear reference to Sol, that song's refrain starts playing in my head: "Deeper Shade of Sol"~

    Picture makes it look way darker than it was haha was A nice above average brown ale the Bourbon barrel aging defiantely added some nice vanilla notes

    Not much of a maple flavor but overall was very tasty and I did get a hint of Maple and Vanilla in the last sip lol

    Trying Old Fezziwig for the first time. Very tasty. The spices are a little overpowering cold; we'll see how this beer opens up as it warms.
