This spot is having a firestone tap take over today. I'm enjoying their IPA now.

My first Allagash Tripel. One of the best I've ever had.

Had a somewhat trying day...sometimes marriage ain't easy. ah well, as my ma used to say, "this too shall pass!"

making dinner and enjoying a nice little score from the other day (bottled November 2013, still tastes fresh as could be - must buy more!)

For a non-hop-head, I gotta admit, this is quite tasty. Very mild hop bitterness. Smooth.

Home from work...cracked this 2011 Sofie. Surprised at how bubbly she is. Simply delicious.

I wanted to do a side by side blind tasting of two new beers Dirtwolf and Hop Ranch. Both awesome new DIPA's from Victory. The blind fold (aka closing of the eyes) didn't work. The two smell completely different and after smelling Hop Ranch it's hard not to be able to pick it out over the other. It has an extremely unique nose.

I'll say the Dirtwolf is definitely more tropical and orange and Hop Ranch is very citric. Lot's more lemon zest and spicy herbal qualities. Almost a sour note in the nose. It's got a really one of a kind nose and flavor. Hop Ranch is extremely straw yellow in appearance and Dirtwolf is slightly orange.

    Mouthfeel is almost identical.

Both are awesome but I think I prefer Dirtwolf's tropical qualities a bit more. Both are killer though and recommend picking them up if you can.
