Beer review #275: Rodenbach 2008 Vintage

Man, I love these Rodenbach beers. Every time I crack an older bottle, I recognize that I'm drinking a little bit of history. So much went into making this beer, and then getting it to me to enjoy.

These are so, so damn good. These were more of a revelation to me in 2013 than good IPAs or stouts. This vintage actually got the lowest score of the three I tried (2008, 2009, and Grand Cru), as it's the most vinegary, which affects both the nose and the feel. The flavor, however, is still pure delicate, complex goodness.

    Cheers!

Well stayed home and worked from home all day, it appears I was one of the only one's to stay home today. :flushed:
Oh well it didn't stop my 2 bosses from having me call in and justify decisions I made, which of course were still the correct decisions to make! LMAO!
Anyway enjoying this fine brew from Victory!

Haven't had that beer in maybe 4 or 5 years...should rectify that, because I remember it being great.

Round two. The shortie cork really makes keeping this much, much easier...not that it lasted more than an hour. Too delicious!

Very jealous of all the Enjoy By pics; only one local bottle shop got any, to the best of my knowledge, and it's a bottle limit of 1 on reserves. I may get more after the put the remainder on the shelves; we'll see.

Shoveled a bit of snow this morning from yesterday's snowpocalypse, then thought to myself, "Exactly why did I spend all this money on an AWD car again?" Tested it today: no problem whatsoever. Yeah, my driveway may look less pretty than the neighbors. As long as I can get in and out, screw it.

....did I mention I freaking love Rodenbach beers? :grinning:

I don't want to say that Metallica stole that riff for Master of Puppets, but. . . . Metallica totally stole that riff.

I've passed this by this year for no good reason other than I keep buying Dirt Wolf, and Schlafly TIPA, and Hop Ranch, and Nugget Nectar, etc. Finally gave in and picked some up. Good decision.
