Hope this is not a premonition. If so, I guess I'll just have another.

Taste Off! 3 sessionable low ABVs packed with flavor: a 3 way tie, each a 4.0:
    21st Amendment Bitter American
    Stone Levitation Ale
Left Hand Sawtooth Ale (an ESB)

Here's my review of Stone Levitation Ale at 4.4%
    look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Stone - a favorite brewer. Thanks for this session amber ale.

A: Good looking darker MAHOGANY body, with plenty of tan head and lacing. A darker Amber Ale.

S: Plenty of aroma for a session beer. In true Stone fashion, hoppy on top, then underneath roasty malts. Nutty, grassy.

T: Follows smell, on the hoppy end of spectrum for amber ale. I think taste is faithful to and fulfilling of the nose. Plenty of flavor for a session ale.

MF: medium, easy, good long finish, appetizing.

We need more 4% flavor-packed beers like this. Equal favorites like 21st Amendment - Bitter American (APA) and Left Hand Sawtooth (*an ESB) come to mind.

    Bitter American at 4.4%

Could be my new every day beer in a can if I could find it. I love this brewer, and I love this session ale.
12 ounce can poured into a wine glass
Appearance: Pours a slightly hazed, dark apricot body with a proud tan head. Lots of lacing on the way down. Looks great, like a much sterner beer than 4.4%
Smell: IPA light. Good starter hop ale. Starts with mild maltiness, with welcoming scent of flowers, grass, herbs, and citrus. Appetizing hop aroma. Great with food.
Taste: Follows the smell with a cracker, sweet malt, then toasty, floral hops, lemon and grapefruit. Medium bitterness. Drying, lemony finish with a lingering citrus presence. Great finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Medium carbonation. But good mouth feel, great with any summer food.
Overall: Why would you not make this your every day, early day, and summer ale? Great stuff. Great brewer.

    Sawtooth ESB
    look: 4.25 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Appearance: Medium, clear amber with a very thick, lumpy and foamy white head, with exceptional retention. This will make a great black and bitter.
Smell: Caramel, cherries, figs, esters, cracker grain and light hop aromas.
Taste: Malt first. with flowers, biscuit malt. Pleasant fruit follow with malt and hop balance. Long firm finish. Hop bitterness is mild but long. Mineral, fresh, long finish.
MF: firm mouthfeel, medium-bodied. Even a bit creamy. Again - going to be a great blend with Stout.
Great: Top ESB. Easy to session.
