What beer are you drinking now? #466

It's darn delicious is what it is. It's a brown ale and not another "IPA wannabee" like some people have alredy tried to tell me. It has hops for sure but it's brown ale all the way . . . .and then as if they had snuck up on you . . . . (did you know snuck is not a world?) there's grapefruit and floral. A hop brightness and an easy lift to this drink that does not detract from the toast, the bittersweet chocolate or the smoooooooooth coffee. OMG MORE!

 

Got a little shaken up on the way home, but still pretty darn tasty!

 

This is Baranof Island Brewing Company's Spruce Tip Ale, hmmm.....normally I generally like most of their stuff, but uh...well here's the pic and I'll leave it at that.

 

Boulevard Westside Rye, its nice to have a Rye based beer that isnt an IPA!

 

Another Swedish IPA, this one is from a craft brewery though. It's rather similar to the macro IPA, in that both beers are tasty and hoppy. ABV is a bit higher in this one at 7,3% but it's not overly sweet, Nils Oscar's beers tend to have a very nice balance to them, or what I would call a good balance, where they're not overly sweet.


I'm currently drinking this, a Swedish DIPA from Oppigårds, Thurbo Double IPA. I think it shares some similarities with Oskar Blues Deviant Dale's, that beer had a prominent orange hop taste to it imo, and I think this beer also displays notes of orange which sets it apart from the last two beers. It's also quite hazy whereas the other two were clear. All three beers are very tasty solid beers, and they reaffirm my faith in the Swedish craft breweries (and crafty ones).

After finding out my two go-to beer stores are either hoarding or not receiving any Hopslam this year I'm drowning my sorrows with a nice 90 Minute IPA.
