The great Michigan KBS hunt

A full case when it was released last tuesday in gr. Why didnt it get released to the full state last week?

 

I talked to several stores who can only order it today from the Distributor. Some stores will have it tomorrow and most by Thursday. One guy told me straight up he's not selling any other than to his "best" customers.

 

I already scored 1 4 pack last week and 1 yesterday. I only paid $20.99 for the 1 and $25 for the other. I have said it before that I have never seen the need to do the brewery ticketed event. $5 and u get 2 for $50? I have paid less than that with tax and deposit.

 

$5 went to charity and two 4 packs were $40. had great food and great beer on tap. it sucked.

 

Absolute Madness...glad I at least picked up my two 4 packs at their release.

 

As great of a beer as it is, I'm not waiting, searching or begging to get any. It's just not worth the hassle to me anymore

 

I'm with Brian - trading some BA PT5 for KBS to avoid the shit-show of hunting down single bottle beers or paying out the ass for a four pack at some shitty liquor stores. Having to get out of work early to hunt got old awhile ago.

Got two at the release and my go to guy saved me 3 4packs... two of which i gave to two friends who hadn't tried it before.. also got another from reservations.. all were under 20$ a four pack.. just talked to my guy and he said he'd save me a couple more 4 packs if it's released again.. the rest of the conversation was about how amazing superfluid was, and how I had it on draft last weekend then had a yearly one oberon which tasted like water after superfluid..

Much harder to get in large quantities in Kalamazoo this year (you could find cases of the stuff here last year). I did come across 4 bottles of Black Note on the shelf at Serafino's in Richland though, and after resisting buying some at Bell's just to trade, I couldn't resist this time after largely striking out on KBS today, so if anyone wants more Black Note and wants to IP trade me bottle-for-bottle with KBS (or something else), let me know.

 

Manager at my local Trader joes just about flat out lied to my face when I asked him about it a week ago. Told me they aren't allowed to order it.... Then said they will likely get a case if they do get any and then said its $18.99 for a 4-pack. Lolz so which is it ?? Not that i care I went to the release but anytime I go to a store I always like to ask so that I know to check them out for other releases...it's weird how protective the stores are over this stuff.

 

Yea Kzoo has been a big zero for me. Apparently I needed to be in Hardings parking lots at 7am to get anything. I did get a 4 pk of Black Note at Mega Bev W. Main though

 

Related to this, my brother-in-law got on a beer waiting list at Meijer, and got KBS that way. I was unaware Meijer ran anything like this, was it just his local or is this a common thing at a lot of Meijer stores?

 

I've been able to find a couple limited things at certain Meijer stores. I saw a Meijer guy working the beer section and asked and he explained that Meijer has a few "flagship" stores in Michigan that have individual beer buyers who are allowed to buy limited items. He said in GR the Meijer in Cascade and the Meijer at Knapp are flagship stores.

 

Are there any places around Lansing where I might be able to find some? Or is it a long shot?

 

Been a while since I've spent any time in the Lansing area, but in East Lansing, the Big Ten on Grand River used to get KBS.

 

Talked to the Holt - Big Ten location and they said they received/released it last week.

 

Who am I going to talk to in line at Holiday now?
