Prairie Bomb! comes to mind, and both Ten-FIDY and Narwhal are impressively thick and flavorful non-BA stouts. Right now, first impressions and all, only Bomb! has the kind of depth of flavor that Speedway Stout has. I, too, wish I could get their stuff regularly; I found this bottle on a trip to VT.

    Cheers!

My first full glass of Speedway Stout gave me enough time to do more laundry, an entire load of dishes, and both make and eat dinner (I'd make a good wife, is I guess what I'm saying; my wife is taking care of the kids, so I think we're even).

Must mean it's time for another glass.

    Dieses Bier ist fantastisch!

Moved on to more mellow music.

    Cheers!

Sunday wind down. More or less a crappy weather weekend. Mixed feelings that zero yard work got done. My back is happy, but I know it just delays the inevitable...

Home made pork empanada pie with simple salad for supper tonight courtesy of the missus. Perfect place to use the tomatillo relish from the past harvest. Guava....well, I guess they are tarts...for desert. Going well with a Berkshire Brewing Deans Beans Coffee Porter. I do like this beer a lot, and even though it has been hiding for three months or so the coffee is still nicely forward.

Funny note: when I had my 500th tick, it was the 500 BC Humbolt IPA, and I didn't even realize it at the time. Now I have 554 ticks and it's the 554th thread! Weird stuff! Anyways, I love that this juicy bitch is in a sixer now; it's pretty much fruit punch but not so sweet, and of course it's beer!

Decided to brew a Russian Imperial Stout today. I think I'll put some wood, whiskey and coconut to it. Halfway through the mash I figured I might as well do a partiguyle. So I did just that and decided to make an American stout for the smaller beer.
This will be fun I thought...Then the power went out!!! So I did what any New Hampshirite would do... I started up the wood stove and put my partiguyle brew on that (along with chicken noodle soup for dinner).
Just as soon as the wort came back up to a boil the power came back on (of course). So I threw everything back on the stove, cracked opened this delicious Black Note Stout and finished up the brew day.
Fingers crossed these two beers come out OK. At least our power is back and the soup turned out good!
