If I'm able to grab 2 more tomorrow, they're for you and @CTJman . Unless @Dicers beats me to scoring 2 trade-able bottles.

The Misfits LIF is shipping tomorrow, Friday the 13th. Could it be any more appropriate. Hope you enjoy @Steve_Oldrati, once the EP is finished I will set up a small trade with you so I can ship you a copy of the cd. Fair warning to everyone, I'll be handing these cd's out like candy in trade boxes once its finished, so pepper your ear holes!

I don't think Kickstarter is a real good source of funding for new breweries. It's probably good for small systems, but not if you want a 7+ barrel system. It would be good to fund a small part of a brewery, like if you wanted to purchase a canning line or something. I priced everything out at roughly $500k for a 7BBL system. I want to either establish some production brewing experience, or at least get a good handle on it before jumping into bed with someone else that I need to relinquish production control to, so that's something I need to figure out; I've considered getting a temp job with a local brewery, but most of them know me and know that I'd be leaving after a short period of time and they don't care for that. I'm also considering establishing a craft beer centric distributorship for central KY, which is a relatively untapped market considering we've only been getting our huge influx of distribution within the past few years. I also need a little bit of capital to invest on my own before the SBA or anyone else will consider putting money into also. I did all the photo/video/creative work for my employer before and have had a lot of people ask me about doing freelance stuff for them, though I didn't have the time. So I decided to make the time and work for myself for now. The amount of money people pay for real estate photography and promotional videos alone would triple my previous salary. I mean, I hope...

Crowd Sourced Prostitution, that's one of those business ideas people look back on 20 years from now and ask why they didn't think of it sooner.

500k seems super super high for a 7bbl system. I have quotes for 15 and 30 bbl systems, and the 15bbl can be done for less than that if you don't count operating capital for the first year. I have some spreadsheets and quotes and other info I'd be happy to share with you if you want, just send me a BM, I also hope to open a commercial brewery in the future.

500k includes everything: system, fermenters, 6 months payroll, rent, utilities, construction/retrofitting, draft system, tap room furniture, 3 compartment sink, brewing ingredients, walk in cooler, kegs, bottling line, glassware, marketing budget, you name it. After examining everything in depth, I would be very uncomfortable going with anything less than 500k. Keep in mind this isn't a production brewery, though distribution is in the model (I.e., this includes a tap room). If you wanted to do a production brewery you could probably get away with less, but the slower initial revenue stream just didn't appeal to me.

Ok, that makes more sense if you are including 6 months operating capital.

You guys are lucky you live in areas with less costly real estate, a buddy of mine (who has not shown me his full business plan, so i know only snippets) told me the brewery/tap room he's opening is going to be into 7 figures, and i think a large portion of that is the property he's on (in the city of Philadelphia).

I do know he's not doing a huge system, i think in the neighborhood of what you guys are talking about, but he is also doing a second 1bbl system to do gluten free beers, so i'm sure the extra equipment for that adds a fair amount too, but I would imagine a lot less than the difference in property value.
