I take it no one has ever seen a Kuehnehnn(sp?). I remember their Raspberry Eisbock looking like it was printed from a IIGS.

If you don't pick Anchor for best labels, you forgot about Anchor.

Flying Dog must not get moderation. We all know who Ralph Steadman is, I can even appreciate his work but to plaster is on every bottle it becomes a bit overdone and played out. The labels do not do it for me.

Most Pro? Goose Island. Minimalism all the way.
Personal Fave? New Belgium Lips of Faith Series. Super fun and gorgeous
    Least Pro? Weyerbacher

If anyone actually does do a search for this, expect some surprises of the NWS variety. Not complaining, just thought I'd mention it.

And yeah, Double Wench looks like someone took a screen cap from some **** and just traced over it. Didn't even realized I'd seen this in stores until I did the search. I have nothing against boobs (at the moment *ba-dum tish) but that thing looks really bad and doesn't exactly make me want to try it.

The thing is, moderation or not, the Flying Dog images are quite evocative without resorting to the the gimics of a Coney Island or Clown Shoes.(Not really a fan of "themes" for brewerys when it comes to naming their brews, but the art is still crazy good IMO)

Half Acre in Chicago has some of the most original label art in my opinion. Some really great artwork generally with a touch of humor. Many of you probably haven't had the opportunity to see some of the labels. Below are a few examples (the Big Hugs label this year still cracks me up).

I too am not a fan of the Flying Dog labels, and they're local to me- I live ten miles from their brewery in Frederick, MD. The designs, while show obvious talent, are just too over the top for me as are some of there beer names, which are juvenile and trying too hard. While I like to support, and I do, the local brewery, their collection of beers baffles me. Some go from very pedestrian and uninspired to downright yummy top-shelf offerings....very inconsistent.

Should have mentioned it..definitely Image Google ALL the words: Middle Ages Double Wench Beer..(Not just Double Wench)...makes it a wee bit less NSFW, (but the labels could still be risque depending on your workplace, and region of the country, and the artwork is stilll kinda...errr.. out there (no pun intended))

Agree with Wormtown...technically nothing wrong w/ the labels, but the Fonts are all over the place from beer to beer...feels...amateurish in a way.

Brooklyn Brewery..definitely professional looking..consistently...but also plain in other ways...(mentioned by another poster)

I think Hardywood Park is off to a great start with their labels. Nice look and feel to them.
In fact, I think all of their packaging and marketing material is excellent.

I really like Bruery's labels...GI and FW come close. But only some (read: sours) boost my pulse...

Dont like FFF labels, but their beers are phenomenal.

The only thing I've had from them is Pliny so I can't say too much about their labels, but the use of the Comic Sans-ish font around the Pliny label made me cringe a bit. I think it might be because I spend too much time on teh intertubes.
