I just picked up the new Mastodon before starting a day of household labor. Can't get enough of it! \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ (Giving it five horns up!) Anyway, taking a break from the tasks with this; a "thanks for helping me get moved in" reward from a friend ... I haven't had this one in a long time and, ya know what? It's better than I remember.


Of course I thanked him but, but the first thing that popped into my head was ...

I've gotta send you a box of good beers. I can't stand seeing you drink this swill day after day over a hot forge, you poor bastard.

 

Whose bitchy? Listen this is great lakes dortmunder gold. It is a dortmunder style lager beer. No one has to create special definitions for it and /or make excuses and say well , its really a vienna lager with some added innovations. There's no commercials for this beer. It's good it's very good. This is what it should be and it costs the exact same amount of money as the average sixpack from sam adams. (JUst sayin')




Im going , I'm GOING!

Made popular in the 19th century in Dortmund, Germany, these pale golden lagers exhibit a classic clean character with notes of biscuity malts. Bitterness is akin to a German Pilsner with an aromatic aroma. Mouthfeel is firm and even, with an overall dry tone.

 

Had two glasses, then drank straight outta tha bottle to finish it off.

I love a good Dortmunder...our local brewery does one that is wonderful...and you are correct, the beer in your hand is very tasty!

 

Odell's fernet aged Porter... It's awful, worst thing I've ever had.

Super friendly brewery, too, if you're ever in the area; always awesome to see people genuinely enthusiastic about brewing. I expect the Resurrected (mosaic) IPA cans dropping next month will go over very well.

We have some nice beer here with them, 2nd Shift, Urban Chestnut, and I'm a huge fan of a new brewery Alpha which blew me away at first taste with their barleywine. They make my favorite hoppy beers in the area.
