The same thing Folger's uses in its fine instant coffee blend.

    And Pacifica Hops.

"The Pacifica brings something of a blend of new and old-world taste descriptors to the brewers' forum. Orange marmalade aptly describes the citrus aroma notes achieved through late addition."

I agree, that's why more often than not I'll pick up Troegs Sunshine Pils over Summerfest during the spring/summer months. Sunshine displays that pils malt character better. Not that I don't purchase Summerfest though, still a solid beer.

Well if anyone does not like their Sierra Nevada beer just ship it to me.

Exactly how spot-on to style the Okto will be is not a big concern for me. I've had enough SN lagers to know that the odds are I'll like it regardless of how it fits the style. I can easily see myself buying multiples of this variety pack, as opposed to the 4-way (an okay pack) which I only bought one of. I can't get my hands on this fall pack soon enough.

Any chance this pak will be in cans also?

    I will be buying this.

I wonder, will any of these get their own 6's? I am sure the Oktoberfest and the Tumbler would get buys from me in 6-packs.

Ahh...this should crowd the Pyramid Octoberfest off the shelves

Summerfest is such a great beer. A local convenience store has if for $8 a 6pack and I keep them reordering.

Well they can start shipping them now then, as my area has been cleared out of the Beer Camp packs already (I was lucky enough to grab the last one at the 5th place I had visited).

I am very excited for this variety pack and can't wait to grab one (or two, or three, or...)! I love Lagers, I'm glad to see Tumbler has returned and I am very happy there are no IPAs in this pack, as I am a little burned out on them.

They probably should have just called it a Harvest Lager, or some such thing, instead of an O'fest then. I could see that being enjoyable on its own terms.

Let's not criticize the beer too much before we actually taste it.

Thank you sir for adding some 'sanity' to this thread.

As Bill Manley has already posted in this thread:

"Both the Oktoberfest and the Vienna are pretty traditional examples of the styles (not IPAs you jokers!) and seriously good drinking beers. We'll be brewing all of the styles in both Chico and NC and should be widely available.

For what it's worth, I'm a big traditional lager fans, and I'm REALLY looking forward to having the Vienna and the Oktoberfest this fall."

    Cheers to @sierranevadabill !

So when do you think we will start seeing these pop up? I am seeing pumpkin and a few Fall beers trickle in already and I remember by early Aug. of last year, we had a considerable amount of Fall beers to choose from already. Plus I am sure Sam Adams' Fall variety pack will be hitting the shelves soon too.

This will be the first Oktoberfest I drink this year (unless the local brew pub's comes out first)!

Well, let's not compliment the beer too much before we taste it either. Personally, I'm optimistic due to beers like Summerfest, and the retired Glissade. But if we shouldn't overly criticize a beer before it comes out, we shouldn't be overly optimistic either.

Can't wait to try it though....I'm even more excited to try the Vienna Lager. And I'm sure I'll enjoy Tumbler all over again too.

A healthy dose of skepticism is fine here, but I think that a balanced, open minded approach is best.

I know that I'll enjoy the SNPA and Tumbler. I never had the pleasure of having Glissade (though from what it sounds like with all these seasonal sampler packs, I'd be shocked if it didn't show up in one soon) so my only reference point for Sierra Nevada's lager abilities is Summerfest, which is a damn fine brew.

I'm probably most excited about the Oktoberfest, because I don't doubt that it could be fantastic and traditional, and overall most curious about the Vienna Lager since it's such a relatively rare style at this point.

Packs get hit distributors this week though, so I'll be curious to see how the reviews start rolling in!
