Are there any decent craft beer options in Palm Springs? I hear its something of a beer wasteland...will be spending 3 days there in September.
Say, wes, aren't you the dude that just bashed somebody for posting a redundant San Diego thread? [grin]
Did you hear it's "something of a beer wasteland" in another thread on the front page that said exactly the same thing?
Wait, I think I found it. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/best-beer-store-in-palm-springs-desert.165488/ <-- here to help.
That was specifically for bottle shops. But mainly I was in a rush and just fired off a quick thread..
Sorry frogout, hope I didn't ruin your day too much. Honestly feel like people in this sub forum are more concerned with looking out for repeat threads than anything else.
Probably because we get home from a long day, find a good brew in our cellar/fridge and play around on the interwebs.
Most people would have ignored it (maybe just pointing you at the other thread) had you not criticized somebody else for doing the same thing. Take it as it was intended. LOL
if you're headed to PS from the LA area be sure and stop at Hanger 24 someone needs to open a brewery in Palm Springs pro tip: the mexican food at Las Casuelas is pretty good
Best bet is just to buy stuff from BevMo/Total Wine in the area. Last time I was in Palm Springs proper though I went to the Ace Hotel one night for drinks and was pleasantly surprised. They had Speedway Stout, Bruery White Oak, and Duchesse De Bourgogne on tap amongst others. Which by Palm Springs standards was pretty good.
Ace is the best spot in Palm Springs, beer wise. Last summer I enjoyed a ton of Cafe Racer 15 on tap by the pool. It was glorious
Check out La Quinta Brewing, head brewer was a brewer at Green Flash and he's making some good stuff! Plus, they can their beers which I like for the desert!
