I find it annoying when large chains like Meijer get limited releases and small shops that specialize in craft beer get shut out.

Do you have any idea how much of Bell's products that Meijers moves?

$60 cases from Bell's, there is no way the average sixer will go for $12.99. If you are under $15 a sixer you are lucky.

That is a ridiculous price! Hell of a deal.

Correction, coming from my buddy who purchased a case at Bells this week, It was $43 out the door for a case of Mars.
Also, Meijer has 6pks on sale this week for $10.99. A steal of your Meijer carries limited releases!

Coming from my bank statement, from when I purchased a case of Mars, it definitely was not $43 dollars out the door. $60 case, $67.75 out the door.

Are they using the standard bell's gold bottle caps for the planet beers?

I picked up 2 (the limit). Each were $2.99. I'm happy with that.

Anyone else pick up on the fact that John Williams likely took some inspiration from "Mars" for some of his themes in the Star Wars score? Specifically on the music for the Empire and Darth Vader.

Wow, that is fantastic. You know, I've always been a little bit lukewarm on Bell's. I love Expedition Stout, and Hopslam and Two-Hearted are both decent, but beyond that nothing of theirs really prompts repeat purchase. But I must give props where props are due--this entire Planets series and promotion is simply fantastic. I love it. Now hopefully I can get my hands on the beers to see if they match the promotion.

Allowing users to listen to each of the suite movements on the site is simply great.

I haven't. I'll come back here and update once I do if you promise to do the same

I'm probably late to the party on this one, but it sounds like you're in luck. From Bell's:

Hopped at a ratio of about 3.4 pounds of hops per barrel, the recipe for Mars was developed from a trial batch called Larry’s Latest Double IPA brewed in our original brewery located adjacent to the Eccentric Café in downtown Kalamazoo.
