Doesn't "straight" mean 51%+? So straight bourbon must be 51% corn, straight rye 51%+, etc. My Bulleit says "straight rye" and " 95% rye mash American Whiskey". Cheers!

Haven't watch this movie since I was a kid, over 20 years now. Netflix needs to put every Robin Williams film on the streaming list.

    Half Acre Daisy Cutter.

Really wishing I would have bought more then 1 four pack when I was in Chicago last week. Zombie dust is awesome, but the fact that you can walk in and buy Daisy Cuter I think all the time? makes it under-rated in my book

After that indra kinindra last night i had to go in the complete other direction. This is such a sweet beer. Caramel, French Vanilla, and Coffee blend so well. If it wasnt for the subtle alcohol note i would think i was drinking some sort of iced starbucks drink lol

    Ah the tin hat
For some reason I decided I needed a steel helmet and this was the cheapest, pretty sure it's Russian WWII

Was worried that with it being painted black (presumably to hide wear&tear) it might be mistaken for SS
so I added the Stars & Stripes on the side with the Airborne Screaming Eagle (me being a Brit it kind of represents the allies)
and added my online call signal (there is also a S.H.I.E.L.D. GOGO ON THERE)

yes. 51% +. for quite awhile Four Roses was the whiskey supplier for Bulleit's bourbon. pretty sure the 95% pepper mint.... I mean rye, is out of Indiana.

that said the bulk of the balance of what isn't corn in a bourbon mash, usually is rye. sometimes 30 or more % is rye. Van Winkle, Weller, Makers & a few others utilize wheat instead of rye for their "strong grain". incidentally, Weller is a straight bourbon not a "straight wheat" as was indicated in the original post.

not to belabor but just to clarify after re-reading your response on a real screen, i think i see where a vocabulary mix-up might be.

when talking bourbons there are generally two mainstream productions. all consist of at least 51% corn. the next biggest percentage of grain used is considered the "strong grain". in a majority of bourbons, the strong grain is RYE. a smaller few use wheat for their strong grain. a bourbon that uses RYE for its strong grain is considered "rye formula bourbon" or "rye recipe bourbon" a bourbon that uses wheat would be described as "wheat formula/recipe", or other slang terms such as "wheated", "wheater" etc. are also used to describe the same.

not sure, but i'm thinking you took my use of the term "rye formula" to be an equivalent or equal term to "straight rye"? the two terms are not synonymous.
