Tired Hands growler 'I see a Darkness'
Neshaminy Creek Leon Russian Imperial Stout, marshmallows, bakers chocolate and graham crackers! This has my name all over it!

I haven't tasted any of these beers and only heard of 4 of them, all new and can't wait to start tasting.

Also, 2 bottles are homebrews, waiting for some info on these. Loving the box!

Well I opened up my boxes before heading to my brew club meeting, and due to fear of someone breaking into my house to steal this haul I may not end up posting pron to keep my family safe...

Glad you like the box. And (imo) the 2nd box is the better one.

So, firstly, I apologize that the growler is already over a week old... Blame Labor day, and coast-to-coast shipping, and me being too cheap to overnight the damn thing. Fortunately it's an Imperial Porter so it has a better chance of having held up than an IPA would. It's actually an "Espresso Honey Imperial Porter" though truth be told I didn't get a lot of honey flavor; but it was pretty awesome nonetheless.

Secondly, if you dare chance the growler with a couple more days on it, your 2nd box has #properglassware.

Thirdly, the homebrew is an Irish dry stout, on Untappd as '1r1sh Stout' by Abacus Brewing Company (the 1's are because it was my 11th batch of homebrew). It's actually a good 8 months old at this point but the last one I had was still drinking pretty good; this is the batch, of 12 in total, that I'm most pleased with.

Fourth, the Neshaminy Creek Leon went over pretty well at the bottle share I did in Houston, though I still think everyone was being nice to me since I was visiting town. Other bottles were like 4 Jester Kings, Westvleteren Blond, Cantillon Kriek, and lots more, so I'm almost sure they were being polite... that said, it's a tasty beer.

Fifth, please remember to hold off on the Old Heathen, the BA version (Heresy) is in box #2.

Sixth, Beamish was one of the first beers I "actually liked", I had already had Becks, Sam Adams, things like that, so I knew I preferred "real beer" to BMC, but this was the first thing I really "liked". Then frickin Heineken goes and buys them, and decides that they want to focus on the "domestic" (Irish) market for that beer and no longer import it. Fast forward to earlier this year and my parents vacationed in Ireland and brought me back a 4-pack (could've been a 6-pack and my dad drank two, I'll never know) and that can was my last one. I admit that it's by no means a "world class" beer, but it holds a special place in my heart nonetheless.

Seventh (and lastly), a spoiler: Between both boxes, the Tired Hands I See a Darkness (an "Imperial Porter") and the Sweet Baby Jesus are the only two non-stouts in your entire haul.

I love what @Mipper did when he took a photo of both boxes he received all together, so hopefully you can either save empties or drink something else for 48 hours; I didn't take a picture before I packed that up, so I'd actually really like to see what it all looks like together.

    Cheeers!

Although we haven't hit the deadline for guesses, we have a winner! @UcDru hit the nail right on the head with a guess of 111 (I shot a semi-respectable 52 at Beaver and a meh 59 at Crossroads)

Thanks to everyone who played! @UcDru BM me your address so I can get this box of goodness out to ya.

Well you made my day, I was a lil concerned on the quality of the haul. One of the bottles needs an * I will let you know which one when you post the pron. I don't want to look like a dick by including this bottle but I had no idea until after the day I shipped.

What a lucky guess or a case a karma repaying me almost instantly as @PA-Michigander put it. Either way I will take it and am stoked to receive the local gems of @RustyP. Cheers!

Sooo, I decided to show these photos anyway...

The super comfortable shirt that I had to wear immediately, and yes, it is very comfortable:

Here's the cans, only over a case of them, 24 of which were non-stouts but known wants of mine. Badass dude, super grateful! So how quickly do I need to drink this Crowler, and what is it? Will it stay great until 10/4 when I have my anniversary party? Either way, many many of these beers will be opened that day :grinning:

And here's the 12oz bottles, all 3 of them... WWS is one of my top 3 non-barrel aged favorite stouts, it sits alongside dark lord and marshal zhukov... Been wanting to try Wine Barrel Noir, so sweet!

Oh, here's the 750's, not bad ehh? Never even heard of Catherine's Passion, but big sound I tried trading for a while back, and huna is a perma fave!

And now to the plethora of bombers...
Muy, 2x MZ (remember my earlier comment of my top 3 stouts), Big Bad Baptist, Even More Jesus, Jesus this box(s) is awesome!

Overall, in the words of the great Ricky from the latest season of Trailer Park Boys, I can feel my brain short circuiting! I would seriously like to trade with you on a regular basis, and you could just send me Big Rod, Shark Bait, and MZ every time and I'd be a happy man!

Absolutely awesome boxes, and though this wasn't my first bif, it definitely has me more excited about future bifs than ever before. I just hope I don't miss the next stout bif!

PS, for those that are waiting on the coconut variant, my guess is no one has EVER got a bif box that looked like this when they opened it!

Yeah I get about 672oz ... plus coconuts. I started to feel ok about my boxes when wheelz posted the pics, but now I feel woefully inadequate again.

    @bevoduz
I'm glad everything arrived safe and sound! Let me know how those coconuts turn out, but I think they should be fine.

That crowler is Mexican Standoff from Due South which is a porter with cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon and HABANERO! This one has some heat to it. They say this crowlers are good for a couple months, I have never waited that long. If someone else knows feel free to chime in

Now for the unfortunate... that BA Muy Bonita is having some issues, some have said that when it is opened it has a horrible smell but still tastes amazing. Others have said that they are over carbonated, and some the taste is off. But there are still a lot of people saying theirs were perfect. There are a couple forums you can check out, one in the South Atlantic section and one in the beer trading help. I guess put it in the fridge for 3 or 4 days and give it a whirl this weekend. Let us know how it was.

Enjoy the beers Chad and anytime you need something from down south shoot me a message.
    Cheers
    Matt
