    OK -- HERE WE GO...

This officially kicks off round 3 of The Locals -- these have sort of been seasonal, so think of this as "Beer it Fallward"

    General groundrules are:
-- shipping window will be throughout the month of October (ship by 10/31). If we have any newbies that don't have sponsors (existing members) who will vouch for them, they will need to ship by 10/15
-- minimum of 144 ounces, maximum of 225 ounces -- that's the same as we had in round 1. (That being said, the average that round was in the 260-270 range; and rules are made to be broken)
-- the focus should be on locals -- good stuff you want to share -- as opposed to whales, although obviously a mix is fine
-- this round we will be including at least one piece of beer swag and/or a local edible "treat" in the spirit of Halloween

IF YOU ARE INTERESTING IN PARTICIPATING
-- please message me your info -- name, address, phone number -- IF YOU PARTICIPATING IN THE SUMMER SIXER, AND STILL HAVE THE SAME INFO, YOU CAN JUST TELL ME THAT ( @_RL_ shared his spreadsheet with me)
-- I also need your shirt size (for potential T-shirt swag), along with your likes and dislikes. Those were collected last round too, but I'd appreciate getting them again. Or you can just say "see my profile" and update your wants.
-- I know everyone's sender and target from the first two rounds of the LOCALS, but you are also welcome to tell me anyone you sent to or received from in Hastur's (or other BIF's) to make sure you don't get the same guy twice
-- social security number, mother's maiden name, and ATM pin code are not required

IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTING IN PARTICIPATING PLEASE LET ME KNOW THAT TOO, SINCE OTHERWISE I WILL TRY TO CHASE YOU DOWN TO ASK ANYWAY. Although if you're not participating, you don't need to message me (and can just post it here).

@edhizdeid - I will leave it to you (or some of the other participants) to pass this on to guys in the other BIF

Sadly I have to skip BIFs for a while. Cut back on the beer drinking to study for the CPA.

Got it! I will mention this again. Hopefully, we'll get a few more members from Haryur'd BIF joining this round. There's already a few. Can't wait to get this started!

Looks like I'll be joining you guys for my first BIF. Can't wait  Always found the unknown the more fun part of the trade so looking forward to sharing some local love. Hopefully I get an IPA lover

I know this is meant as a joke, but as a founding member of this thread I think this kind of intro is kinda crappy. Plus it is played out if you ask me.

Everyone is local and everyone is welcome, if someone wants to restrict their LIF to the peeps who are here already that is their choice, but IMO this is a thread where everyone is welcome and there doesn't need to be any kind of initiation here. There is another thread that has that covered just fine.

Los Angeles, so within striking distance of San Diego to the South and some good stuff in Central Cali as well.

Looks like @Lehighace06 is the winner as the final score was 74 (20+17+30+7). Send me your info I'll get the random pack out to you.

@kgncfl -- I think the "who are you" was because he jumped in on the football score pool and nobody had seen him in here before. If it had been just a generic post/comment or an expression of interest I'm sure he would have gotten the usual loving response we give newcomers.

Message sent... I think I did it right.

I'm so stoked for this, and sending by 10/15 is no biggie. As soon as targets are out I'll probably start my shopping the following weekend and have the box out fairly early (at least, that's my plan)

I realize it was meant as a joke, and totally see the context it was done in, but that kind of reaction can keep people from participating in a great thread. Almost everyone who hopped in the other big BIF thread says a similar thing like "I was afraid to just jump in and join the madness so I lurked for a while." That is all well and good, but I'd rather have this thread be one anyone can just jump into at any time. Nobody should feel uncomfortable because they came into the thread 6 months later.

Sort of like our version of "NO BAers left behind."

Ha! I feel for you here, as I'm also studying for the CPA right now. Was waiting to see when the Round 3 details came out before poking my head in to see if I could join. Test date in November, so perhaps it's for the best that I wait til Round 4 for the same reason as you...
