Right on! That rich, sweet, and whole grain yumminess is quite unlike anything else and I got that from this beer.

    Wow! Week 500! Amazing!

Today is Foray IPA (Belgian Style) from Deschutes.
    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/63/118789/?ba=RJLarse

A nice crisp light citrusy IPA. Not in keeping with the classic style, but a very nice thirst quenching brew.

Gorgeous day here in eastern Washington. Out on the back deck, watching the Seahawks and brewing a spiced Christmas ale. Clear blue skies and temps in the upper 80's.

The Seattle-Denver game today would have been a much better Super Bowl. Good guys still won. ;-)

    Happy Trails!

Two more new beers - in total contrast to one another...

    Bud Light.
    Just awful.

But then at home (just in time for Seattle's finish in OT) with Avery's 5 Monks...

More from my latest international crush...

Now if we could get a return of how it was served (tap, can, bottle etc.) I think it is a good piece of info.

Been busy today with laundry and trying to get all of my music on my new iPhone...iTunes is taking forever... But now on to the important things, new beer! Enjoying Stone 18th Anniversary, not bad at all, but not there best anniversary beer.
    Rating 3.98
22 oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- A clear brownish ruby red with a three finger off white head. 4

S- Fruity hops, some wet grass, pine, citrus, some carmel malts. 4

T- Sweet, fruity, citrus, piney, sweet malt backbone. 4

    M- A little thick/full body. 3.75

O- Not as good as past Stone anniversary beers, but still good. The maltiness and body kind of remind me of a barelywine, Bigfoot to be exact. Worth trying, might pick up another bottle to share with friends. 4

Special thanks to @beertunes for this unique collaboration beer, brewed at Boundary Bay-

Whatcom Wheat is nominally a Kristalweizen, but has a few pleasant surprises in store. The color is a deep gold, bordering on amber, with enough of a malt base to support the dynamic interplay between the yeast and the hops. It is lowly carbonated, which gave me concern, but halfway through the glass I am thinking that works in this beer's favor; there is a definite mellow balance to it all. I am initially struck with a fairly floral nose (hyacinth?), that quickly peels away to the expected banana and cloves. The palate is full of light caramel and spice, sending the banana to the background, but bringing up the rear is a brisk snap of bitterness and lemon peel. Swirling the glass brings the flowers to the forefront, and the sequence starts anew.

I really am enjoying this beer. It's got a unique personality, but isn't brash about it. By the end of the can it's still rock solid, and I am left wanting more. A-

That as well! I've told other members, (outside of the website/internet) that I would've joined earlier, but I wanted to review beers. At the time, the format was limited to 500 characters. I remembered like what!? I cannot describe this beer in 500 characters. But I seen how people "cheated" on that with spaces and all that jazz. Some of my reviews I still refer to my serving type.

Bud Light is the only light beer I won't drink willingly. So I dig your review/tick.

    Happy Sunday!

Thought I would join NBS on a very special week:[IMG]
Jumping in with something outside my comfort zone. Duchesse de Bourgogne a Flanders Red Ale that I am really enjoying. Not very sour at all and I can make out the malt which is quite pleasant. One of the most drinkable of this style and I will have again someday. Thanks NBS =) and happy 500th

Never had this one before and I feel a bit silly for passing it up so many times, it's very tasty.
The vanilla beans add a nice touch and the mouth feel is just creamy enough for only 6.5% abv

A friend recommended this one to me recently after getting a fresh drop of it at the shop he works in. I was a bit skeptical due to the semi low rating (83) but I'm glad I got a sixer because I really enjoyed it. It's a nice piney bitter hop bomb with a semi creamy mouthfeel and citrusy after taste. Very nice

sorry, i was viewing/replying via my phone which is limited - didn't see Roguer already inquired.

not saying this is you too. i distinctly remember an instance where i mistakenly believed a beer had coffee in it & it was good but i was going on about how it would have been better if the coffee hadn't just been a note in the nose but better pronounced in the flavor profile --- when my friend says to me: "You know that beer has zero coffee in it - right?" bottle was sitting right there in front of us at the time too. long winded but point was the beer actually was very good - i had a false expectation from the giddy up.
