    Don't get me wrong Pirate Bomb was by no means bad, I just felt it wasn't as good as regular bomb. It was a tad too sweet, whereas Bomb has a better balance with roasted malts/coffee and vanilla. And I haven't had any other batch of Bomb! this year was my first time trying it.

    By the way how was that Double ESB? I love their normal ESB and red badger stout.

    Very tasty standard amber Oktoberfest style.

    Drinking up the second 6 pack I bought. This years batch was spot on delicious and well balanced.

    Very nice as it was last year. Balanced citrus/tropical hops and caramel/toasty malts. SN rocks at making tasty and well priced 6 packs. Delicious.

    It's too big and fat. It takes up too much space I won't have a problem drinking it all, but I would rather have 12 oz bottles.

    The name is misleading because it is definitely NOT an ESB. It is one of the best American Strong Ales I've had though. Probably a little sweet up front for most because all the sweetness is on the front and caries over, with the toffee and slightly roasted malt(?) showing up on the end. The latest batch of Bomb! was released 3-4 weeks ago, if I remember right, so if that's within the time frame you had it then you had the best batch as of the last 1.5 years, at least as far as I'm concerned because the coffee, chile and chocolate all were very noticeable.
