3 New beers this weekend. 2 Saisons and 1 Harvest.
    Carton Harvest 2014 Calypso 4.1
Freshly made beer featuring local harvested hop bounty is hard to beat even if it's a quick and spontaneous brew. A for freshness.

A: Light as a pilsener. A bit of dotty lacing. Light and sunny.
S: Orchard, earthy, fall tart fruit, mari-jane bouquet.
T: Salty, earthy, fall tart fruit, hooch, and squash.
F: A bit thin, finish not quite there yet. But fresh.

    Grisette 3.8

    look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

A - A nice pillow of bubbles the head in this one over a 1/2 inch. The color is a nice hazy bright yellow as expected for the style.
S - Smells of mild citrus hops, coriander spice, and mild lemon peel. Strong enough but not loaded like some beers.
T - A nice flavor it's sort of dry with the yeast giving you some fruit flavors and the citrus hop taste in the finish. Flavors of orange and lemon seem natural enough and balanced with the peel. Not bad.
M - Light to medium, rather crisp and carbonated. Easy enough to drink from the can.

Overall a pretty great Saison not the best but easy on the flavors and has a great ABV that will not knock you down. May get this again

Heavy Seas - Red Sky At Night (Saison Ale)
    3.85/5 rDev +4.9%
    look: 3 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3 | overall: 4

Appearance: Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a very modest head that retains poorly and fails to lace

Smell: Immediate whiff of Belgian funk, with candi sugar, banana and melon aroma underneath

Taste: Starts with a rather biting fruity flavor with melon aspects - a bit like a watermelon jelly belly; after the swallow, the funk makes a brief appearance but is overwhelmed by the honey flavor of the candi sugar; the yeasty elements also come through to the finish

Mouthfeel: Light body with moderate carbonation; a bit hot, however

Drinkability: A tasty beer, but flawed, in my judgement; the carbonation and mouthfeel are clearly not Belgian and the flavor is more like a Belgian Strong Pale than a Saison; nevertheless, I am scoring it not to style but to my tastebuds and I enjoyed drinking this beer

My wife & I ran down to Victory in Downingtown since we'd never been there before and I picked up a 12 pack of bombers of Moving Parts batch 2 for $34! And, if you ask me, I'd say it was excellent, never mind the price! Victory guy also told me to expect Hop Ranch in the middle of November and they were making 2 or 3 times as much this year. SUPER psyched for that!

Moving alone was Manayunk's "Dreamin' IPA" which, while I've had better, was pretty good. Picked up a four pack at Wegman's on the way home from Victory.

Friday we went to Troegs and took the tour and it was very cool. On the way home we stopped at Breski Beverage in Harrisburg and dropped like $250 in the place which included Overgrown in cans. $35 a case, great taste, not over the top in hops or ABV...this may be my new go-to beer and, hopefullly, the cans will help it last a little longer. Not that this stuff sits around my house for long!

Finally...today I ran back down to Victory to get some more Moving Parts. I grabbed two more 12 packs and saw this in the fridge so I asked about it and the kid said it was bold, lots of grapefruit, etc. When I said "Dude, you just described Hop Ranch" he said "Yeah, they are similar". Being how Hop Ranch was probably my favorite beer every from Victory, I had to grab a four pack. He wasn't lying, it's got more grapefruit then a grapefruit! The ABV is 6.5%, however (Hop Ranch was 9%) and there's a mellow, bready finish to it Hop Ranch didn't have. But it's very tasty. At $9 for that 4 pack it probably should be, however!

Enjoying this for the first time while watching the SD/Oak game, strictly because I have Rivers on my FFB team (wow the Raiders are bad) and waiting, rather impatiently, for Game 2 of the NLCS. Hum baby, let's do it again!
