Well . . . it's blustery and cold. A lovely fall day. Perfectly gloomy. My favorite thing about fall is that the wind howls at night. I love that. I am having this but I am sensing an Old Brwon Dog in my future too. Shoals Pale ale. Cheers BA =)

Wow. This may well be the post of the day. Care to share more details. I take it that this is not homebrew. Such an intriquing photo. Damn I've got a thirst on...

Gotta go. (Runs away to retrieve a Zoigl from the refridgerator).

I love that song. If you're in a ska mood, may I suggest you check out UNRB. I'm a bit biased, but they don't have a bad song yet!

Is homebrew...and it was enjoyed in our backyard brew garage (tricked out like a Franconian tavern). It's meant to fall somewhere between a Mahr's Ungespundet and a St. Georgenbrau Kellerbier (and is much closer to the latter at this stage...very earthy, reminiscent of a Veldensteiner Landbier even). Still needs to clean up a bit, and should do so nicely when we begin lagering. Still, tastes pretty dang good already. Definitely nailed the color and the soapy head. Prost!

And now the 80's. 1980 actually. Wife hears the song start and says "Oh no. Dad's starting with his lame 80's music. You're not cool."

5 seconds later wife starts dancing to the song.

Bulgogi burger (soy ginger kimchi, sesame rice cake, scallions) & mac n cheese
Not a bad beer either. Balanced flavor with sweet malt backbone and highly drinkable for 9%.

    Cheers!

I feel 19.99$ for a 6 pack is pretty high, but I would say its worth it. I think it will do good with some aging as well.

Firstly thanks for the extra info. I knew there was more than meets the eye in picture you posted. I saw that and thought woah, "first rule of fight club"......etc...etc

A Franconian garage eh? Awesome. If you feel compelled you can also post a pic on the What Homebrew Are You Drinking Now thread over on the Homebrew forum.

P.S. Gotta love that earthiness. When I was a kid I used to go out to play in the rainforest in Australia and when I got thirsty I drank rainwater that was running off clay soil and I think that was the foundation for my insatiable thirst for earthy beers. That and the wheat grass that my hippie mum used to force feed us from the age of 3. People sell boxes of aromas that remind people of old memories. I prefer to drink mine.

Of the six beers I will consume tonight 3 will be lagered. Somehow my palate seems to be maturing.
