Thanks to all the trash talking Bullsh**ers for ruining what was supposed to be a great night for me. I went to the airport to pick up one of my daughters to surprise my youngest daughter. She surprised her by coming home to see her try to win Homecoming Queen for her high school. That was about the end of my night. Because while at the airport I check BA. And what do I see? I start reading posts trashing me from numerous people. Certain and usually the same people always seem to open their mouth and trash people on here. Or just open their mouth constantly to what seems to me to just hear themselves. I clearly stated there was another box. And yes I and am was offended. I have done multiple trades and BIF's and have thought that I always have sent over and above the limit. I never thought any of my targets in the past were upset with their hauls. If I shorted them I do apologize.
I want to thank @PA-Michigander for at least being optimistic about this. I think he knew that I wasn't going to half ass this since I contacted him about info on Pizza Boy and other beer.
So to hell with all of you trash talking idiots!!!!

Hey man, allow me to again apologize; my post was definitely not at all intended to offend, and sure as hell wasn't intended to ruin a nice night with your kids.

Please read my post on the previous page that attempted to explain what I meant by what I said, I hope it allays your concerns about my intentions. I'm confident that if we sat down together for a beer (first round is on me next time you're in the Philly area) we would easily reach an understanding.

Surprisingly considering they are, as you said, in my backyard (not literally... but ya know), I've not had a single one of their brews and I feel awful for it. I need to drink a bit more SUPER local (but not coconut porter local)

I guess I'm glad I wasn't around my laptop last night as I probably would have stuck my foot in my mouth as well. The way I read it didn't have anything to do with a knock on you @justanewby as it sounded like everyone knew there was another box coming. I think it was more a theoretical statement of this box actually would meet the stated minimums of the BIF and wouldn't someone by bummed if that's all they got? Therefore, maybe we should increase the stated minimums on the BIF to something that more accurately reflects what everyone actually does.

I wasn't around to participate in this thread last night (I was drinking a variety of stuff, and due to my idiocy was reduced to logging in my beers on untappd on an IPad, which made me look quite stupid but amused my drinking partners) -- and besides everything else, I had something set wrong so couldn't log in the various locations I was at :-( . I also logged one incorrect beer, which I will correct on untappd later today (I did it a little bit ago and got a "top of the morning badge" that I don't deserve yet so I deleted it, the good part is I know it's coming!

My two cents on the whole "minimum box" issue...

1 - when I read @Lehighace06 's comment, I immediately thought he was kidding. Sometimes it is hard to tell, but I too knew another box was coming. And I think pretty much everybody is this thread avoids negativity. And some of us who tend to comment a lot are bound to occasionally be misunderstood.

2 - this is my first BIF, and I actually haven't received my box yet, so I have gotten about 5 beermails in the past, and in all honesty the small ones like you get in LIF's or BIF's are not that much less gratifying than the big ones. I guess I understand the concept of "I spent $300 on my shipment, and this is only worth $50", but even in that case if you're getting good beer, you're getting good beer.

3 - we DO state a maximum (I have no idea why) -- if someone has not done a BIF before, and sends 180oz in ours, they are right about midway between min and max. It's not their fault that some of us are out of control with big packages. I know personally, part of the overflow was the fact that I could easily meet a lot of wants, and part of it was I have a bad habit of using beer as padding and squeezing in as many as I can. I have not seen a single haul that I would not be happy with in this round. And by the way, somebody could be shipping a 12 ounce bottle that costs more than a less-highly coveted or less-rare bomber.

4 - I am a little sensitive about this issue because I still think this is what caused the issues with our BIF founder in round 1 -- he was a young kid with relatively little discretionary income; started a BIF with a stated maximum, saw the ridiculous packages that were getting sent out and didn't feel he could keep up.

5 - maybe sticking with things like the summer sixer (with relatively "real" maximums) is a better idea.

6 - lastly, I know some people didn't join this round because they didn't want to purchase and/or receive a huge package of beer. I briefly considered (but abandoned) the idea of having people give me (along with all their other info) an "ounce range" they were interested in. I would not have shared that publicly, but if 8 guys, for example, said they wanted to ship between 150 and 200 ounces, I would have treated that as a separate BIF and assigned them to each other. If I did that with a few groups, some boxes would have been smaller, but the hints etc would have still been the same effect they are now, and nobody would have felt slighted.

7 - I am done babbling now and need to check my new alerts and inbox...

Also, how did you know that I like crappy pop music just a bit too much? That song is perfect for my box.

Thanks to all of you who commented both on here and in personal BM's.
I am as sarcastic as they come, but I just don't see how someone saying I would be bummed if this is what they received can be taken anyway but negatively.
I may have over reacted but frankly I don't give a sh*t anymore.

I wish I could get into their beer more. I think I gave one of them a 4 and I've got really high hopes for their collaboration with Pizza Boy. I believe it is a IIPA brewed with a shit ton of honey.

I do agree on a lot of that. I know it's great people want to overachieve and provide a big box to people. I also understand that not everyone can always send out those sorts of boxes consistently but still want to participate. I think expectations need to be tempered and always remember we do have a minimum and you should still be happy with something around that of new, different beer. I don't want people to be scared off because they can't ship out huge boxes but still meet the goal of this BIF which is getting new beers to try and forming a fun, though slightly off centered community of alcoholics...I mean beer enthusiasts.

For the record, I think you beermail was pretty awesome and would have been happy to receive those boxes. I think @Lehighace06 made a comment tongue in cheek and really didn't mean to offend you. But at the same time I complete understand where you are coming from. I think this BIF group is great and I hope this doesn't cause any rifts or turn people off from what has been most certainly an awesome community of people exchanging beer.

To change the topic a bit from the negative, did your daughter at least win Homecoming Queen?

Oh, and I loved @kgncfl's Shake It Off knock off!

I totally agree with everyone that has been saying this is a great community. I do love beer and the people on here are great.
Thanks and we wont know until tonight if she wins. My wife (a long time ago) and other 2 daughters were up for queen in the past and lost. I need this one to break the curse. Its my last chance until my 10 month old granddaughter.
Of course they are all queens to me.
