    Just reviewed Left Hand's Oktoberfest (4.41), second only to Great Lake's Oktoberfest (4.43). What would an Oktoberfest be without an OOM PAH PAH band? Well, there's Das Furlines an all girl punk polka band...



    I've known the lead guitarist, Holly "Hemlock" (the girl wearing Nordic horns) all our lives. She's been a writer for Rolling Stone, a magazine editor and now is an author about country and rock musicians. Her latest is about Alex Chilton (lead singer The Boxtops - The Letter, she's writing about Janice Joplin for 2017). For all us southern BAer's, she's from Asheboro, NC - Holly George-Warren.

    The wife wanted to go to Haymarket Brewpub and who was I to argue with her? Post-FOBAB drafts included Claire's Thirsty Ale (pictured below) along with Clare's Right Hook and Indignant (all world-class beers IM0). Heaven on Earth!!! Especially Thirsty Ale! Too bad no growlers available to go - LOL!
