A brand new one from Westbrook, released today at the brewery. Raver's Extra Ripe Old Ale, an old ale aged in bourbon, red wine, and Apple brandy barrels, with Brettanomyces added.

I was kind of scared the Brett would throw things off, but somehow they pulled it off wonderfully. A complex and delicious beer.

The ABV went down, but the flavor didn't.

Yet another brewery in WI doing superb work. Blown away by this one. Where in the world is Pembine, WI anyways? A trip is in order.

21st Amendment Lower de Bloom Barleywine, snifter. From last year I think (purchased in February/March of this year). Lots of resinous and citrusy hop bitterness, a flash of brown sugar. Although it isn't as sweet, honestly to me this tastes more like brown sugar than Lagunitas Brown Shugga'.

Of course, what do I know. In the last 2.5 hours I've an 11% quad, a 9% barrel-aged hoppy barleywine, french fries and BBQ chicken. My palate may very well be way out of whack.

5 years old! Grape, raisin, bubblegum, tart cherries in the finish, and a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel. Cheers!

A first timer for me...the nose is great on this. Nutmeg, cinnamon, spice, but the taste kinda lacks a little. Not bad, not great.

Heard this song this morning and it was in my head all day. Not a bad thing at all
