I've always heard great things about this beer, and the comparisons to Backwoods Bastard. I can't say I've put any effort in seeking it out. Low and behold, I saw a lone four pack mixed with some shelf turds at my local store. Good thing I didn't balk at the $26.99 price tag, cause it's worth every penny! Amazing bourbon, vanilla, and dark fruit flavor. Consider me a fan, I'll put more effort in finding it in the future.

Happy Monday and MLK Day, have a great week!

My go-to Gose as usual. Time for a new 6 pack

Great pale ale. Plenty of bright citrus/tropical hoppiness. Citra/Simcoe/Amarillo can do no wrong.

Another one of these again today. Glad it is year round, will be getting more. Seriously delicious.

Is this worth picking up? I'm kinda scared when it comes to American Brewers attempting European styles.

It's not anywhere close to really good Doppels I've had, if you prefer the German made ones you may want to just stick with that. It's ok overall for me... read my review to see more.

@smakawhat That sounds like a pretty solid Doppel. I, too, love an impressive looking brew. Certain beers have a charm when you pour them, sounds like this is one of them. I will pick up a single and give it a whirl.

Back from a 3-night trip in Florida to see my kids. I haven't been posting much - or drinking much, for that matter. About to start solving that, and first up is a 1-month old Another One from MBC.

Wonderful aroma and flavor; no drop-off here!

No other pics from the weekend. I'm sorry to disappoint those of you following along a certain other thread, but I did not drink the 23/24 year old SN Bigfoot. It'll still be there next time, and it's not going to taste any better or worse at this point.

And, just because I couldn't make a New Beer Sunday post yesterday, doesn't mean that I didn't observe it properly. I tried out Bison Brewing's Organic Chocolate Stout...and I was not particularly impressed.

I've decided to spend my day off productively, with "productively" meaning enjoying several delicious beers! Starting with this nice little IPA from TG. Cheers to MLK and his legacy and happy day off if you've got it, BAs!

While it's certainly not as extravagant as all of your guys' posts, I recently picked up a six pack of Samuel Adam's Winter Lager. I had never seen it before and my curiosity convinced me to make the purchase. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. I finished the six pack last night and I have to say that I wouldn't mind picking up some again.

I don't usually hype up beer, but this thing is singing to me! Once you break through Alcatraz to get this thing open...it's worth the hassle! This brew's aroma is phenomenal! It's twisted with vanilla, roasted malt sweetness with a nice dose of charred wood and roasted almonds. Breath taking! The flavor is just as rich! Starts out with malt sugars that touch the tip of the tongue and suplexes your palate with Bourbon! Cocoa, vanilla and roasted almonds just keep ice skating around in your mouth. This finishes with a decent alcohol heat and flavor, which isn't offensive. It's a part of the brew and is balanced. The feel on this brew could be fuller, yet with all these flavors going on...who cares!

Overall: This is shitting on Bourbon County right now, sorry if I have offended you Bourbon County fan boys. I wish there were more of this on the shelf. I had Four Roses the other day, while its good in its own right, doesn't hold a candle to this Variant. Blah, blah, blah, worth the money. Blah, blah, blah, this is Recommended!

Cheers to those who fought for our Human Rights and Animal Rights! You are not forgotten.
