Black Blizzard.....dark/chewy/tasty greatness....one of the better Russian Imperials...almost up there with Ol Rasputin

Woke up to this in my freezer this morning


Preface: In this story, the term 'friend' is used in it loosest possible meaning (small rant)

Last night didn't go as planned to say the least. Invited a friend over to share some beer. He said he wanted to try the 4th anniversary with me. I put it in the freezer and opened my growler of Olde School. He says its too sweet. Ok, thats fine. I asked if he wanted to open the bottle of Stone smoked porter vanilla he brought. He declined, saying he wants to age it. Ok. How about the growler of Barleywine from the local brewery he brought? Again, declined, wants to age that too. Okay. So how about the final growler he brought of the milk coffee porter?? Big surprise, kindof wants to age that as well. Really?!? So I continue to finish what was left of my growler of Olde School, refusing to offer anymore of my beer, as he leaves with his tired girlfriend and his beer.

I completely forgot this beer was in the freezer. More pissed at myself for forgetting, really. I've done this before with another beer who's name eludes me. The beer lost most of its carbonation and flavor.

But to my surprise...

Da-yum! This beer still has a nice head on it! Crisis averted! And tasting mighty solid I might add

In short. If you agree to a beer share, don't be this 'friend' who shall remain nameless (he's not on BA). And don't put any beers you hold dear in the freezer if there's any chance of you getting beer-rage after being around shady friends, drinking 24 oz of Olde School and forgetting where you put said beer

Also, can't forget to give a big thanks to @thirstyturtle for sending me this beer in the first place. You're the f'n man.

I'm glad the 4th turned out to still be good for you. I have to ask why anyone would bring beer to your house for a "share" if they wanted to age it?

 

While one of the two team still has ways to go til Victory, I'll have me some at half-time.
