Time for a crazy sour beer thanks to @bstyle, 7 Day Golden Sour, cheers!

 

NBS X-Post! Got my last rounds of the NBS BIF box so here they are:

Great IPL! The appearance on this is insane. Lasting head retention and soapy down the glass. Nice nose with grapefruit/citrus peel/piney hops and light-moderate pale malt presence. Very bright on hoppiness. Taste of big grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine with light-moderate cracker/bread malts and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Very hop forward vs the malts, but still has nice bitterness/sweetness balance. Very clean and crisp with some moderate hop stickiness on the finish. Very smooth for 8%, minimal alcohol warming on the finish. Really excellent.


HOLY SHIT. This beer is insane! Huge aromas of caramel/toffee balanced by dark fruits and moderate bourbon/oak/vanilla notes from the barrel. Wow. Taste is flat out 5/5, hands down. Huge huge caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, brown bread, raisin, prune, fig, date, vanilla, bourbon, and oak. Some slight oaky bitterness on the finish. Absolutely Insane complexity and pretty much perfect balance of the barrel, malt sweetness, and dark fruit flavors. Zero cloying sweetness. The body is extremely thick, creamy, and slick; lightly syrupy but not in an offensive way. The mouthfeel is so decedent and rich, practically perfect there too. Alcohol warming is very restrained, I only get a slight warming after the finish. So yea, to wrap this up, mind=blown. English barleywine in lager form. ISO more.


A very good altbier. Pleasant aromas with toasty/biscuit/nutty and light caramel malts with some light yeast fruitiness and herbal/grassy hops. Taste of caramel, toast, biscuit, nuttiness, pear, apple, herbal, floral, grass, and light pine. Light amount of herbal/pine bitterness on the finish. Very well balanced bready malt, yeast ester, and earthy hop flavors. Good bitterness/sweetness balance. Medium carb/body; smooth and crisp finish with a touch of hop stickiness. Very tasty stuff. A bit dryer and hoppier than I expected for the style, but the flavors are very much in line with what I expected.


Very tasty herbal hopped black IPA. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, toast, and coffee with some herbal/grassy/pine hop notes. Very pleasant. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, and light char; with a moderate amount of pine/grassy/herbal hops. Nice sized herbal/piney bitterness on the finish. Nicely balanced earthy hop and roasted malt flavors. Very smooth and fairly crisp finish with some light creaminess and moderate hop stickiness. Good robust flavors. Really enjoyable and unique. Well done.
