Had an amazing time at the Founders Firkin Freezeout last night. Dirty Bastard with cinnamon, maple and vanilla was best in show again this year. Founders please make that a Backstage release!

I'm trying my first §ucaba today (x-posted to NBS) and it is delicious, but I totally agree with @brywhite that a little age will help this beer immensely.

Oh I love this beer.. and I love anything that sticks it to Man U... tho I more of a Liverpool man myself. Still I can appreciate that in 1966 there were more players from West Ham than any other team so in essence West Ham won the world cup in 1966 Kudos to them....

My first 18th Street brew, from bozodogbreath. Perfect brunch beer.

Listening to this, real loud.

 

This was my first try and it seemed pretty hot and somewhat astringent for being as old as it is. I prefer that though so I was glad it hadn't mellowed out too much

 

50/50 Masterpiece on draft!!!! Followed by their Coconut!!! SF Beer Week is working out just perfectly.

 

Now that its past noon, I can "legally" drink without the evil stink-eye being cast in my direction. Let the deliciousness commence. Here's to a lazy winter Sunday. Cheers all.

 

Well. Time to crack open something special:


I only was able to grab two of these this year, this being the first of the two that I have opened. Just as tasty as I remember!

Why crack something special? Yesterday I accepted a new position that will be taking me to Kansas. I've spent almost my entire life in Raleigh, but it was something I just could not pass up. I'm extremely excited, anxious as hell (moving alone to a place I don't know anyone), sad about what I'm leaving behind, but overall hopeful for something new. All you 20 somethin' ladies in Manhattan, KS better watch out, this dude is comin'!

Working at the Ski Jumping competition this weekend. It's a haul getting up to the jump, but I think I'll ever take the fast way down!



However, there is a wonderful reward - the Lagunitas tent with 4 beers on tap, $5 for a 16 oz cup! I had the Pale Ale and the Cappuccino Stout. Deeelicious, even when you drink outside in the cold!
