i feel bad for you cats getting repetitively barnstormed with snow & sub zero temps. not ragging just sayin' that stuff is beautiful... on TV & in beer photo backdrops etc. meanwhile i'm prepping the grill & getting heckled by the residents out back on what promises to be another 75° winter day here. managed to get a few semi clear shots of one of the hummers stirring about in my yard this morning:

We won't see hummingbirds for a couple months here... woodpeckers are everywhere right now, which usually means snow - or ice - will be falling soon.

Almanac is local but some of what you've seen previously, is definitely a matter of having ' proper ' friends.

So I accidentally turned my Victory at Sea into a slushy ...it didn't taste bad just really prominent coffee and an u uncontrollable head so the head looks a lite odd in this pic haha but it warmed after a couple hours is and the vanilla came out to play I feel like the Vanilla is much more prominent in this year's batch and so delicious
    [IMG]
Since I didn't let it fully thaw and drank part of it as a slushie this seemed appropriate haha

and then my current go to beer that never disappoints love this beer

This is last year's. I mostly agree with you. I think it is better overall on the fresher side as far as the flavors go, but it is kind of hot/boozy for all the stronger it is. The alcohol does calm down a bit though after a year. Depends what is more detracting I suppose. I would say 6 months (give or take) from bottling is probably the sweet spot. Which is not good considering I have 16 left:slight_frown:. It is a very good beer, but isn't really all the way there. It is beautiful looking though. I would like to see some oaked Old Stock!

Got a little crazy. Sixpoint Sweet Action and floated a Murphy's Stout. When I got to the point of transition and combination, it was awesome. Pour was beautiful but still struggling with posting pics. That could be a new thread, new creation with floating a stout.
