I've already got you crossed off, with much cursing, but I think it's safe to say if your target doesn't want one they are both wrong, and in the wrong BIF

 

#VBS time: I opened this last night, drank half, and stoppered it to be finished this evening, but here we are eating breakfast and somehow it's open.... I am actually enjoying it a bit more this morning - while my wine saver does an excellent job at preserving carbonation, it has dropped off slightly and it makes the mouth feel much more palatable.

Honestly no, the most I'll ever let a bottle sit is 24-36 hours and I stopper/purge the bottle as soon as I pour the first glass.

 

Ahh so you CO2 purge, not just stopper. What do you use to purge?

 

Not quiet that sophisticated but my wine saver has a one-way oxygen plunger which works very well.

 

I'm pretty sure my target has no clue who they are yet which is great. Started getting bottles ready for boxing last night and rough estimates show 354 ounces right now and I still need to add at least 3 bottles. You have been warned, reinforce the porch.

 

Looked at my list, and for some reason you aren't even on there? Not sure how I screwed that up. Got excited, then saw your hint about your target being "relatively quiet". And just like that, you were added and checked off in about 30 seconds lol.

When I have big or really rich beers I will usually save half for the next evening. I just use a non-fancy stopper or reapply the bottle cap and I don't notice much of a difference.

 

Thank you both for the input; I don't know that I'll stop intending to dome full bombers in a single night, but I'll probably start stoppering them once open in case I doze off mid-bottle... that sounds much better than chugging an imperial stout at 4am when I wake up on the couch just to avoid wasting it.
