This is tasty, and it is still too cold. Prairie is such a solid brewery.

Day-uhhhm, I like this beer! Surely it must fade over time but this fresh 6-pack is fantastic ... like chewing on fresh jalapenos with a little grain taste to even it out.

    Cheers, y'all!

Have a consulting job after work tomorrow, so St. Patrick's is moved to tonight. Paired with corned beef and cabbage.

Yeah, how 'bout it ... it's a sore spot at my house, my wife insisted on living in one of the better school systems in the area which means high public school taxes on top of private school costs. Their grade school cost that/year too ... it's a battle I can't win. Are we loaded? Heck no. This is why I drink. (!!!! :slight_frown: !!!!!)

Gotta work through some of the "Beer Of The Month" stash that's piling up after Mrs. O bought me a quarterly package again. A basic "by the numbers" ESB, with a little caramel malt that's nice, but this is essentially "working in the coal mines for beer nerds" drinking. All my raving to Mrs. O about how good this is better lead to some of the good lovin'.

    Reviews:

Very good pale ale. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, apple, and light pine with moderate caramel/brown sugar/toasted biscuit malt sweetness with some herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Very nice and balanced aromas. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, apple, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, brown sugar and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/herbal earthy bitterness on the finish. Well balanced hop and malt flavors; but there is a light lingering bitter astringency after the finish, but it's not too strong. Smooth and fairly crisp/sticky finish with some light creaminess as well. Really enjoyed this overall, other than the lingering astringency on the finish. Balanced hop and darker malt flavors; with a unique citrus/earthy mixture of hop character.

This is outstanding! 10% "witbier". Huge tastes of lemon, apple, pear, orange peel, light banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, honey, bread, and herbal/grassy hops with plenty of yeasty earthiness. Enormous flavor; with great complexity and balance of sweet honey/bready wheat malt flavors with balanced yeast and spice character. Fair amount of yeast spiciness on the finish balanced out that malt bill nicely. Zero cloying sweetness at all surprisingly. Well carbonated with a fairly full body; very creamy and lightly slick in the mouthfeel. Very smooth sipping for the big ABV as well. Fantastic stuff!

Very nice IPA. Bright and balanced aromas with grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with herbal/grassy hop earthiness and some moderate caramel/toasted bread malts. Taste follows the aromas; with a nice huge ass punch of citrus rind/resinous pine bitterness on the finish. Thanks Columbus hops. Very smooth, crisp, and sticky resinous finish. Good malt balance with the hops; but never overtaking them. Really delicious. If you love citrus and resinous IPAs, this is the jam.
