    Hi guys.

I'll be visiting San Diego in April, and I'd like to spend part of that time hitting breweries with the idea of tasting some badass beers -- but also of bringing home cans/bottles in my checked baggage that I can't otherwise buy in my home state.

I'd like suggestions about where I should visit. I definitely want to hit Belching Beaver and try the Peanut Butter Milk Stout. (I'm a fan of sweeter beers.) And I'm hoping to pick up some Alesmith Speedway Stout either in a bottle shop or at that brewery. And I'd like to hit up one of the Ballast Point locations for lunch and maybe some beer to go. Should I visit Stone for a tour or something?

Bottom line: What are the must-visit places to A) Enjoy some great beers on tap and B) Pick up some bottles/cans?

Thanks. I really appreciate the suggestions (and specifics about why to go to the places).

Toronado is a great bar to visit, they have an incredible tap list. If you visit Toronado, then I would also recommend trying out another bar called Hamilton's. Both frequently appear on best beer bars in the US listings. If you can make it out to San Marcos I highly recommend going to Port Brewing/Lost Abbey. Both in one spot, huge draft lists, and 4 oz tasters are almost all $1 each with the exception of some barrel-aged stuff.
