Ever broken or spilled a great beer?

Just kidding, that is one of the saddest sounding beer spills I've heard.

 

I let my bro open a Goose Island Barley wine with a lighter and he broke the top of the bottle. I drank it carefully.

 

Lost about half a bottle of 2012 parabola on Thanksgiving 2012 because my brother tugged the table cloth by accident. I was already a DDBA and a couple shots of bourbon in so I was pissed.

 

If so, what was it?

I almost dropped a Black Tuesday 2013 today so it made me curious if anyone here has broken something good.

 

Not sure this counts as a "rare" bottle, but I once had a BA Imperial Biscotti Break roll out of my truck when I opened the passenger door to my truck. I was a bit upset at the waste of beer and the waste of money but I got over it. If you collect beer long enough, that kind of thing is going to happen.

 

Tipped a half-empty (I say half-empty because I was emptying it into my face) Teku of Westy 12 onto the floor. I was sad and it stained my carpet.

 

My buddy was blackout drunk and dropped/demolished a bottle of '14 Dark Lord at his graduation party over the summer and ended up crying. It was awesome.

 

A lady at the store knocked over a 4-pack of Founders Breakfast Stout...only one survived, the cleanup smelled great

 

Yeah, had a tasting a few months ago with 6 different Firestone Walker anniversary and had to have it with 5! You do the math. It happens! Drink one in its memory and move on!

 

Half my bottle of Abraxas when I cheers'd my buddy too hard and my glass shattered all over the kitchen. I hadn't been back from FOBAB for more then 5 minutes. Should of known better...

 

so it wasn't me, but during tampa bay beer week, at the cycle release's. (thursday of all days) guy got his bottle, and dropped it immediately after he got it. probably one of the saddest things to ever happen.

 

no breakage, but my son spilled a glass of a very good coffee stout (which wasn't considered a wale by BA standards, but it was my fav beer, and very difficult to find.)

I was severely bummed.

 

I've dropped three bottles in ten years- all pliny!

 

I broke a single bottle of 2004 Anchor Our Special Ale. I consumed the bottle, dropped the finished bottle into the recycling bin, and it broke.

 

Ive seen a guy drop all 4 dark lords last year on the way out after his allotment. I cried for the guy...

 

Spilled half a glass of Pipeworks Square Grouper. Probably the greatest offense I've managed.

 

Also, liquid retention in the case of a spill is one of the most tangible benefits of (most) stemware

 

Hah. Far from rare (at least here in Colorado), but I dropped three Pliny bottles in the liquor store. I told the dude who stumbled upon my mess: "Thankfully it was just Pliny, and not the Sucabas." He replied: "My beer buyer would agree, and thanks you."
