I know we don't really talk about this, but what is the over all consensus about trading beers you get from someone on this thread. By this I mean beers that you gave someone via a ninja or just helping someone out. I don't want to point fingers, but I see someone trying to trade beers in another forum that I know for a fact I sent them for nothing in return.

It kind of pisses me off a little because I gave someone something, never got anything back (Never expected to because we're here to help each other out) and now I see some of those beers being traded.

If it's a beer that they were ISO, then I can understand how you feel, assuming it was something they wanted for themselves.
If it was something that was unsolicited (extra, Ninja, etc), then my thought is it is their beer and they can do what they want to do with it. I generally view beer sent to me as a gift and prefer to drink it myself or share it. However, there have some beers sent to me that are just not a style that I'm going to appreciate or like which I have given away, sent as an extra or included as part of a trade.

 

I can go both ways with this. I know I've done this before when @Houser and I did a trade. I can't remeber exactly the situation but he sent me some stuff in return for stuff I sent him. I think I then included somenof them in another trade or something like that. Might have done it to someone else too. Can't remember the details. Although, not sure I've ever done it with stuff that was ninja'd to me. And also not sure if I've done it to anyone else. Most likely the reason why everyone hates me.

On the other hand, it happened to me. Not to bring up the past but the fort BIAB I sent some pretty good (IMO) bottles to @Tertullian007. One of them was a Bruery White Chocolate (a pre infection 2013 one) that I never had. When shit hit the fan for him, that bottle ended up being sold. At first, I guess I was a little bothered but then I just figured that I gave it to him to do as he pleases so I had no right to be pissed. Hopefully whatever came of it helped out in some way.

Anyway, I really don't know or have an answer for you so all the above is just worthless info that I rambled on about. If it really bothers you that much, maybe just BM the person and threaten to junk punch them the next time they do it. Or, be even more sly and rub the tip of your pen15 along the rim of a few cans and bottles and ninja that person again and squeal in joy as they check those beers in to Untappd.

 

It's a little bit of both. But I definitely understand. it just struck a nerve.

B) A trade is a trade and I definitely think you can do whatever you want with traded beer because it was a fair exchange.

 

No, I completely understand. I don't know the exact circumstances, but I'd be a bit bent out of shape if I saw somebody looking for something and I sent it thinking it was something they always wanted to try and then saw them trying to trade it. Especially if it was something I had not tried myself. The other side of that is if they use it to land a bigger want, then you had a part in that, right?
Also, it could be possible that they ended up with more than one bottle of what they were looking for and are offering the 2nd bottle in trade.

 

I take the kill approach when it comes to revenge. So don't cross me. Or send me a thousand text messages in the middle of the night or during dinner time. Or else I'll send you pictures of me pooping when you're having your morning coffee. And not just pictures. I'll slow-mo the poop coming out my butt and splashing into the toilet water below. And usually my poop after a night of drinking isn't very solid. So it's like a brown Niagra Falls splashing into the rocks below and forming a mist at the mouth of the stream.
