I'll let you know when I get home. Maybe we can also get naked and have a virtual sword fight.

Alright, so while @Tertullian007 was crushing everyone's porch today, I was crushing my own porch, I guess? The last 4 boxes of my cellar arrived from CA today with 42 bottles, so here's some ****!

BC and KBS bottles are 2013s, Rose de Gambrinus is 2012, Bretta Roses are batch 1, Valley of the Hearts Delights are batch 1.

FW XVII, 2013 and 2014x2 Parabola, 2013 and 2014 Sucaba, 2013 Velvet Merkin, FfaC 2013, Beat b006, Hearloom Pumpkin Barleywine (2013) x2, Dark Pumpkin Sour, Farmer's Reserve Citrus, Dogpatch Sour batch 01 x2, Consecration (2014), Supplication (2014)

Amasa and Dauenhauer, Take the Black Stout, Black Butte XXV, Mad Elf 2013, Narwhal 2013, Brandy Barrel 4Elf, BB4D (2013), Black Note (2014), Greenbush Deleusion

    All together:

But there's more! Today I also got something else in the mail for which I've been waiting for quite some time:

So I busted out the graduation toast and a See's lollypop in celebration:
2013 Utopias opened May 15, 2014. Holding up great and taking on a lot of butterscotch character along with lots of dry cocoa. Super sweet. Definitely different from when it was fresh.

Too bad I didn't get an awesome rainbow **** lollipop in the mail today, so I had to go with See's candy. But that's okay. The See's candy lollypop is the thing that actually signifies that you're finished with your Ph.D. at Berkeley -- once your dissertation filing paperwork is accepted, you receive one with your receipt at the filing office. So I probably would have taken one of these this evening over a giant rainbow phallus anyway, but I wasn't put in a position where I had to make that choice.

You like Societe that much better than RR? Hell if I were telling someone to go to SD I'd tell them to skip Societe and head straight to Alpine.

I'm not close, but I do go a decent amount. If you can wait a few months I'm your huckleberry. Otherwise everyone here in CA is a bit far.

Booming Roller - a citrus IPA? Yes please!!

Thank you very much Justin!! You are a fellow bean counter and you should know how to count.......but i guess it is all the sun.

On a separate note, Thursday evening I got to split a few beers at my house with a lifelong friend. I have known the guy since I was 5. We have vacationed together, fished together, drank together and did all the stuff that boys do growing up. It was really good to give him a taste of some great beer that he never tried. We needed it. We were talking about the screening he has Monday for potentially Esophageal cancer :slight_frown:. Hopefully this won't be the case. But sometimes life kicks you in the nuts. Enjoy your family and friends guys.............they are what truly matters. We laughed and reminisced.....and laughed some more about our past and toasted our future.

I also split my very first taste of Pappy Van Winkle 15 with him. Felt it was appropriate. Thank you @ThreeFishes for that beauty! I need to find a bottle.

City of the Dead is a bit of a different take on BBA stouts. They didn't actually age the beer in a bourbon barrel if I remember correctly. Instead, they aged the coffee beans in bourbon and then added them to the beer. I could be wrong but that's how I remeber reading it.

From @MSEGUIN. Thank you so much!!

It was a #pickitupformebro, and he was kind enough to toss it some KBS! You guys love your whales and bombers, but I am also stoked to stock the fridge well with one of my favorite out of distro shelf beers.

You'll note the icepack--it was a tough day. Some of you will take the plunge, and I am sure some of you have already (cheers to you and let's leave it at that). It was great to soothe my soreness with some FBS.
