It's a steal at 9 bucks a 4 pack. It's one of my new favorites. It goes extremely well with a lot of food as well...

So no, I won't be posting a Sunday Morning pic, don't have one :grimacing::stuck_out_tongue:
But am having pulled pork pizza with fresh basil and tomatoes. Sorry, the photo doesn't do it justice.

To pair, having a Belgian rye IPA from Four Winds in BC. Very nice ale, hops are discreet leaving room for the Belgian influence. The spicy rye comes in near the end and prolongs the feel. Overall, a solid offering! :sunglasses:

Greetings NBS friends! Bottle sharing at my bro's and going to sneak in at least one procured on my recent trip to Chicago. It's a Pipeworks-4 Hands collaboration called Square Grouper. It's a IIPA brewed with 'insane amounts' of honey and Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic hops. The abv. is listed at 9.5 percent.

Pours a deep amber-gold color with generous white foam that lingers. Tiny carbonation bubbles are present.

Aroma is dank and tropical in nature. Grapefruit and passion fruit take center stage with a hint of mango. This is one dank and tropical smelling brew!

Flavor is dank tropical juiciness at first sip! Passion fruit and grapefruit abound with a hint of pine. There is a slightly earthy taste in the finish. Perhaps from the honey? The flavor is as juicy and dank as the aroma. Reminds me of Hopslam turned up to 11!

Mouthfeel is oily citrus and slightly dry.

I heard some good things about this beer and was glad to have grabbed the last off the shelf. A very tropical IIPA which is the way I prefer them. Thoroughly enjoyed and would buy again in a heartbeat. All said my score was a 4.62 / rDev +1.1%.

    Cheers, have a great week!

I thought so, too, and not one of Brooklyn's varieties that I've seen around here before. I see the chocolate stout and Locals 1 & 2 here (all fine beers), but this was a first for the Sorachi Ace. Good stuff !

    New Vienna Lager Sunday

Hello all! Nice day here in Milwaukee! I was in the mood to make tacos tonight and while I was buying the food to make it, came across a beer from Mexico I never had - Victoria. I took a chance, and actually like it. I prefer Bohemia from what I remember, but this isn't bad at all for what it is. It got poor ratings, but there is a nice toasted malt character with a bit of spicy hops... not fizzy, though a bit more to the body wouldn't hurt. For an easy-drinking lager, I think it's pretty enjoyable. Haven't paired it with my tacos yet, but foresee it going well.

    ----------------------

Poured from the can into a wee heavy glass. Straight down the middle since I only have so much, sure why not go for it. Interesting to see this having had the barreled version first.

Woah there nelly, good thing we brought out the big glass cause this one is gushing a bit. Out of control head, but classic toffee light tan color and crème brulee appearance. This head though just will not quit. Body bulb is murky, floaties, and some dark flakes as well mixing in with the head on top like sprinkled flakes of nutmeg. Murky body. Egg nog this is not folks. Not a good start gentlemen, while having some wee heavy like character coloristics this is not making for a nice presentation to say the least.

Aroma brings some light toffee, almost waffery and sweet cookie like. Hints of and almost lemon lime soda sweetness also matching in which actually comes out very nicely. Fairly alright but nothing great.

The palate matches at least to the noses description. Mellow light toffee, even some nice spiced caramel sugars coming in, and a finish that comes with controlled clove and other dry brown spices on the aftertaste. Light bodied and slightly wet, with a very fleeting palate though. Toffee light quality comes out with a bit of crispness to taste which is actually a nice change from some of the classic booming malt bomb wee heavies at times.

Appearances aside, comes out drinkable at least, if memorable for perhaps some of the wrong reasons.

    look: 2.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.5 | BA score: 3.44

    ----------------------------------------

Truly an unexpected wee heavy going on there.

Thanks. It's just been permeating my thoughts for the last week or so. I'd never been so glad to have a complicated patient as the other night because at least it forced me to focus on something else!

I had planned on having that one, but got side-tracked with a different brew, taking a walk and now about to cook dinner and have already been drinking a different brew. I want to try it on a fresh palate so it is in my fridge waiting for another day...at least I know it is something to look forward to! Thanks for posting the review!

Happy NBS everyone. A great weekend to be outdoors and that is what I did. Now it's time for a new beer that fits the warm sunny weather...

Look: clear, pink, not much head, no lacing, 3
Smell: slight berry smell, sour aroma as well, little malt, 4
Feel: well carbonated, very thin, 4.5
Taste: starts off heavy on the cherry flavors very sour, then gives way to a nice bready/malty finish, sourness does not linger, but slight cherry flavor does, no alcohol, 2.5
Overall: interesting flavor, but does not taste much like beer. It has a very soda flavor, except much more sour, 3. Glad I only got one.

    Calculated score: 3.19

    New Triple IPA Sunday!

I saw @TongoRad drinking this yesterday and I enjoyed the hell out of Palate Shifter so I said what the hell and picked this up.

Captain Lawrence Seeking Alpha Triple India Pale Ale, 11% alcohol by volume.

A-This beer pours a deep golden body with white head. The foam leaves a nice lacing as it is consumed.

S-Pine, citrus and mango fruit, straight up bursting with hop aroma.

T-Similar to the aroma with a potent finish of alcohol heat and bittering hops. When sipped you can feel the ‘alpha acids’ coursing over the tongue leaving it scorched. It’s reminiscent of drinking liquid hops if there ever was such a thing.

M-Smooth then hot on the end. Each sip is smoother and last, the alcohol fades. Thus making this deceptively dangerous with its 11%.

O-This is a really stupidly hopped Imperial/Triple IPA that has noticeable heat from the abv. I like it. I would describe it like drinking vodka(really good stuff) and hops. It is unique in that I can’t think of another beer that this tastes like or reminds me of.

    4.26 rating + 8% rdev.

Picked up two of these for a NBS, ourselves, but they are at home in the fridge, so I'll have to remember to look back at this thread when we pop them. Looking forward to them considering the reviews so far.

I actually quite liked this beer when I first had it. I think my second try wasn't as memorable, but still liked it well enough. Both times I had it on tap. The bottles I saw recently were way too expensive for the beer (those were 25.4 oz, maybe they were BA?). Bit curious now if it just fits my palate or if it is degrading in "quality".

I got a flu shot in October, and still got it full force in December. There's definitely some truth to the rumors that this year's serum was basically ineffective. Get well soon, utopiajane !

That was from my second 4-pack yesterday, and I've really been enjoying it a lot- especially as a change of pace beer. Just intensely hoppy. The first time around it came off a bit hot like you've noticed, but for some reason last night's was perfect. It's definitely possible probable that my palate was a bit fatigued by then, but who knows... Anyway- glad you're enjoying it. Cheers!

Grabbed beer to get me back on track a bit (almost a 4). Watching Spieth close this out, grabbed a Smuttynose Ol' Grundy Humper "pale barleywine". Enjoyable beer, especially if you like your oak playing a big part in your barrel beer. Actually reminded me a bit of Burton, heavier on wood, lighter on malt. Warmth helps a bit, but to me, a barleywine is a bit of a stretch for style. Some candy and whiffs of darker fruit, but just not there, style-wise, in my opinion.

Well, now it's 51, and the predicted clouds are rolling in, but things are staying blustery. I'm currently listening to the sound of the wheels coming off the Mariners in the 9th inning.

Back with my first beer of the day, which can only be purchased at a drug store that has no "branch" near me. Fortunately @beertunes supplied me with one, and it's worth seeking out:

    http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/20680/161692/?ba=woemad

Really hope Fremont turns this into a regular part of their lineup, and I don't have to drive 300 miles to pick it up if/when they do.

long time listener first time caller here. I don't usually drink on Sunday but this is the most important day in my life and not to be overly humble but quite possibly the most important day in the lives Of others that know me or merely spoken to me in passing.:stuck_out_tongue:. So I'm getting fhit saced and having this new to me beer from @WesMantooth with his infinite generosity provided to me.

It's underwhelming the original Dark Apparition is a fantastic roasty chocolate thick licorice delight. This beer though the vanilla is there but it's giving off a sourish taste and the coffee is barely there and muddled and that's all I can taste. And somehow they've made the body thinner .

Drank this beer today while enjoying the nice spring weather. This beer was a first and hopefully wont be a last. Poured such a bubbly white head that exploded out of the glass. Smelled of tart sweet fruit and tasted the same. As it warmed the fruit flavors became more pronounced and the tartness left a tad. This beer bubbled on the tongue. I really enjoyed Ching Ching and would definitely search for again.
