The King Louie rounded in to form around Christmas/New Years IMHO. The mouthfeel isn't there for what they were shooting at, but the taste was fantastic, the nose not bad either...

Good stuff from Against the Grain. Lots of butterscotch, caramel, and fruits, and the bourbon/heat isn't overdone.

Some 8 months ago someone sent me a 20 oz plastic bottle of this beer. Since then they've canned it. I do believe its a tad bit better but still score it a 3.75:

After last night I didn't think I'd be drinking again, but tonight's here and my liver's at full function :

Not bad, but not fabulous. Pretty charred, like chocolate burnt to the bottom of a steel pan. Apparently it's a limited? Maybe that's a good thing

Since my Bruins & Thunder are on Vacation, I 'll send them off mentally with a Tallgrass Ethos. Still looking forward to the play off, just don't have a dog in the hunt. sigh....

Not as good as I'd hoped. I'm tasting an awful lot of charred and burnt notes as well as tobacco and rooty earth in mine. Perhaps that's how they meant it, and I have to give kudos for uniqueness and the artful approach, but I was honestly expecting an easier drinking Oat Stout.

Bottling date: 3/28/2013. Sampling date: 4/15/2015. Notes: Specimen seems to be morphing into a cross between a coffee-infused imperial stout and a Belgian strong dark ale. Coffee and chocolate remain prominent while a mixture of dark fruits such as raisins and cherries have grown in intensity in both aroma and flavor. Will report changes of a different specimen of the same age in six months to a year.

    I conduct beer research. :sunglasses:
