Silly question because I've never done it and plenty of you have...

When sending a shipment with say, two boxes, is it pretty much double the cost it would be for one box, or is it somewhere in between?

 

Depends on the weight and size.

Gotcha, hypothetically shipping two identical boxes to the same location I guess would be double the cost of just sending one?

I don't plan on sending a two box shipment anytime incredibly soon, was just wondering potentially for the future

 

Back at the ammunition depot last night ...shortly before my commanding officer (aka wife) walked down, expressed concern about my mental state, and walked back upstairs shaking her head...(probably because I was carrying the strategic plan on top of the box on the lower right).

 

I would check pricing on fedex -- we've discussed in the past that once you get past a certain size, prices take a jump. On the other hand, I don't think you can ship a box for less than about $12-$13, so I would guess sticking with one usually turns out cheaper.

 

I have done this a few times and if you can stick to one box, the overall price will be better.
Most recently, I sent 2 same size boxes but one was half the weight of the other and I paid the same price for both (made me want to reopen the other box and stuff with more beer...). A week later, I sent a larger box to the same area with the same weight as the two boxes shipment and I paid 40% less. FWIW.
