VGS: 70K Imperial Stout from Against the Grain from Jason aka @PassMeAZima aka Wisconsin Badger basketball fan. This is from a small growler Jason sent me, and it is absolutely incredible. I had no expectations going into it as the growler had leaked a little but it is one of the best stouts ive had in a long time(13% no less). Thanks man!

Central Waters Barleywine - Want, have enjoyed CW and I love a good barleywine
DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus - Have heard this is one of the better PB beers so looking forward to it
Indeed Haywire - Wow, didn't know anything about this one but looks awesome!
Surly Eight - Wow again
Surly Over Rated! - I'm from the West Coast, its a West Coast IPA... sounds good to me
Surly x Three Floyds x Real Ale Blakkr - Another one completely new to me
Surly Coffee Bender - Have heard great things about this one too

The only thing that I mentioned was I had only had one Surly beer (Furious) and wanted to try some more. You pretty much knocked it out of the park. Think you might have out done me with this one, lol. Didn't do too much in terms of big beers but hopefully you're happy with the variety

Yeah, I guess it might be difficult because the Top 250 is heavily skewed to around 10-15 particular breweries lol

I know what you mean about the NE IPAs. I cant quite put my finger on it either and i live here. Ive heard some say its like a doughy yeasty note which i can agree with. Whatever it is, its god damn addicting

My guess is youll have another family member in another 9 months or so.

 

Might be an interesting add-on for a sixer round. One bottle of the six-pack has to be a top 250 beer. Not sure if that really adds to the round as I imagine most of the sixers meet that requirement anyway.

I'm in the same camp of "there's something about NE IPA's/Pale Ale's"

My guess is the water. Is there some common source up there, like Canada? I think some of the beers local to me with different water sources are different, so other parts of the country would follow the same logic.

 

Enjoy man. As long as the one bottle I was looking for is in there, everything else is cherry. Can't wait.
