Eh more like ppl don't want no spirit barrel aged versions of a very sweet flavorful beer. Different wood is neat, but hard to get the subtlety in a 15% beer IMO. Rum, brandy, maderia, port were all excellent and interesting verisons of Sucre.

Since they didn't do different woods for Sucre variants like they did with Bois, I'd imagine A) the Bruery agrees B)The societies agree C) Both agree.

Personally, I would have loved to see some Cuivre spirit variations this yr!

Here's an idea (which in some form comes around all the time): next year, do a 12oz four pack of:
    - Black Tuesday
    - Anniversary beer variants. Each bottle is a different variant: 1 bourbon, 1 port, 1 madeira, 1 rum/brandy/etc.
    - another idea would be a 4pack of mixed "day" stout: BT, GM, CR and MW :grinning:
    One can dream huh?

One can dream but this won't happen anytime soon. They would have to purchase an entirely new bottling line to handle anything besides 750ml bottles...and that ain't cheap.

That being said, I would love a 330ml or even 500ml option.

You don't need an entirely new bottling line, you basically switch out some parts that are interchangeable. Wineries do it all the time. From my limited experience in helping with wine bottling, the switch takes about a hour.

Since breweries also don't need to deal with different sized corks, I can imagine it's even easier to bottle multiple size formats. But the real question is if it's worth the cost. People that buy wine love large bottles cause they age longer and have a nicer presentation, but with beer ageability isn't as strong of a factor as wine. So is the demand as great.

You have to buy special sized glass which you buy in much smaller quantity which makes it more expensive. Have to calculate the amount of inert gas to put in (since it's not 1:1 based on the ML content) and of course deal with buying the parts to swap.

That all being said, Bruery bottles tend to be more expensive than most and also tend to be held longer than most, so I'm kinda surprised magnums aren't being produced. I can easily see people purchasing $100 magnums of MW/GM/BT/CR

A magnum of CR/BT/etc would be insane. I think if a single person tried to drink that they would die.

i can see purchasing a magnum for a special event, but that's about it. i already have a hard enough time finding occasions to break out my regular Bruery beers. without someone to share with, 15+% bombers are harder to take care of, especially on a school night. that's just me though

i've done the capping thing, but i guess i'm in the minority. i don't like beer as much the next day after wine stopping. for me it doesn't compare

Do you mean since they didnt do different woods for Cuivre like they did with Sucre & Bois?

PS: Regular Cuivre is spirit barrel aged, it is 100% aged in Bourbon barrels.

No I mean they did various woods with Bois, and only 1 plain wood variant that I'm aware of for Sucre. Based on how long they sit in the Bruery store, I'd wager they're not as popular as well.

Could be wrong, just my outside observations.

Oh you mean doing new French oak vs new American oak for Bois but only doing new American oak for Sucre, in addition to the various second use barrels for each.

New French Oak was Hoarders only, so pretty limited originally. I dont think that had a big impact on their decision whether or not to do multiple barrel variants of Cuivre.

I every bottle from the bruery that BA is drank all to myself in one night after drinking a few beers to wet the whistle. Im no heavy weight when it comes to drinking but opening a bottle doesn't need an occasion other than its another day you have made it through.

    Cheers!

I commend you. Believe me, I'm no lightweight. And I have domed Bruery bottles solo. But that's usually when I don't have to go in to work the next morning. I think if I took down a Grey Monday and other beers on a weeknight, it would make showing up for work a tad more challenging

I agree being in RS/HS if you wait for a special occasion to pop this stuff youre never gonna get to it all. The special occasion IS when you open it. I had a choc rain last night because it was a wednesday. It was great, it did gush a little though

Newly minted Preservation Society member here. I'm mostly doing it cause I want to get a better spot in line to get into the RS society next year. Since I'm new to the drill, how likely am I to be able to get in for 2016?
