Something tasty and straight from the can while grilling some skirt steak for tacos.

I've passed on getting any beers from them because they're often very pricey. Sounds like I might need to get on board.

Happy Monday fellow BA bozos, enjoying a trade extra from LaGunitas, I think I'd rather a Sucks.

I was determined to try all the stuff Ninkasi dropped off in the area...

Tonight: The Devil Went Down to Oregon
    [IMG]
From the label: "In a collaboration spanning Oregon’s bountiful Willamette Valley to Virginia’s heartland, Steve Crandall and Jason Oliver of Devils Backbone Brewing took the bet and gave the Devil his due when our founding brewer, Jamie Floyd, came ‘a-calling. What the trio first described as “a sort of West Coast, German-Style Roggenbier” turned into an Imperial Dark Rye, offering an elevated alcohol percentage and a crisp, lager-like finish from the Alt yeast fermentation. Give the Devil his due!" 7.2% abv.

Atypical of my usual interests in beer, this is nonetheless proving to be an enjoyable drink...

Oregon, the Holy Land... the Devil sure gets around...

And happy birthday, Tina Fey! (1970)

Looks like a storm's rolling in. Meanwhile, had a day that started without hot water leading into the preparation at work for our big food safety audit. Needless to say, I think I deserve this one.

Verdict: Tons of bitter chocolate and cold press coffee in this one. Pretty sweet but a nice balance with the bitterness. Worth a shot, though I don't think I'll let the second one I have hit a year. Not too convinced that the $8/bottle price is terribly worth it but I'll definitely drink what I have.

I have had track 10 and this - both stellar, but others I have not been blown away by. Older Viscosity (same brewery, under Port Brewing brand) was a let down and was $16 or $17 for a 12oz beer... they are 2 out of 3 for me, but the pricing is brutal - I would buy another in a heartbeat, but then I don't care about price much - and this is twice the price of BCBW which (as you well know) I get pretty excited about. tough call
