    Was planning on opening this gem from 2011 after finishing some yard work, but its raining, so:

    Found this hiding in the back of my fathers beer fridge, he'd forgotten about it and doesn't particularly care for Tripels so he said I could take it; I was happy to oblige! The extra years are really showcasing the soft oakiness compared to a fresh bottle, as well as a vanilla booziness. Going to have to pick up a few more of these for future cellaring.

    He is 86 and could still kick my ass. The lunch looks awesome. I haven't had the beer , but in general I really like heavy seas.

    Voodoo's newest hashtag series beer #pbw2015 for philly beer week. Its a pale ale single hopped with galaxy and has apricots added.

    Pretty delish. Cant really tell where the fruitiness of the hops lets off and where the apricots pick up.

    Down in the room we got for relatives for the weekend. Everybody is at the pool except me, I'm enjoying the quiet with a couple before I join the rest of the fat people poolside.

    Drinking local today. Rivertown Brewing (Cincinnati) hosted a beer tasting at my local bottle shop (Party Town in Florence, KY) and some leftovers are still on the growler station. I picked up some Rivertown Kriek today...

    I have a love-hate relationship with Rivertown. I want to love their beers, but I hate the fact that I have been disappointed by their offerings so many times. I have to say, this beer is definitely a pleasure to drink. Nothing objectionable or disappointing about this at all.
