Ended up with super fresh ZD and Sue in the fridge so doing a Citra pale side by side because why the hell not. Both bottled less than 2 weeks ago. The photo makes the ZD look much darker but it really isn't, I think it's because it has more clarity that it looks darker in the photo. Both have that signature Citra aroma. The flavor is where they diverge quite a bit IMO. This latest batch of Sue has that great tropical flavor and soft mouth feel it's known for (much better than the first 12oz batch). ZD is more crisp and bitter, but still plenty of delicous Citra hoppiness, it just doesn't pop as much as the Sue.

Both are great beers, if I had done this side by side with the previous Sue batch, I may have given ZD the edge, but I'd say this latest brewhub Sue is superior to my palate.

Weekend in southern Vermont with the missus at a B&B revealed a gorgeous state, but it seems the best beers are to the north and not conveniently obtained...

Sampled Northshire's Equinox Pilsener - a strictly "meh" Czech pilsener...

And had Long Trail's 1790 Tap Room Ale at Ye Olde Tavern in Manchester...
Brewed exclusively for the restaurant, I added it to the site

Drinking another VT beer now - deets soon to follow... :sunglasses:

Like the cabinets. White or a cream color? I'm waiting on new cabinets to arrive. I lost when I wanted to go off-white, so we're going bright white.
What did you do for counters? Looks like marble from the little bit you can see in the photo.
I haven't picked slabs yet, but leaning toward something like soapstone.

Oh, drinking more Solar Abyss, but no new photo.

I had to crack this to kick the night along. Thanks @Gasc0igne! Amazing roast profile, love it - pushed right to the edge, almost charred, but still balanced. Very glad I sat on this one for 6 months as well.

I can imagine. Our house was built around 1870. Kitchen had a chimney with woodenwarming cabinets around it. Big old 1920 Glenwood cast iron range with kerosene heater...what coul possibly go wrong? Zero counter, but an enormous pantry that I wish we still had but it became the bathroom...

Our two were abandoned on a construction site, so Lord knows what they endured. My yellow years ago was retrieving at four months and trained me. Never stopped being a puppy, though.

Really digging it, I wrote a review for it. In a nutshell, a really nice vibrant orange color, not much in the nose (falls a little flat there), not a face punching hop bomb but nicely balanced, spicy, pine and citrus bite, and some tropical fruit. This one uses one I've never heard of before, "Hopsteiner Experimental D5256" hops (along with Simcoe and Southern Cross so there's some unusual hops being used that makes it interesting). I've had stuff from this brewery in the past and never got too excited so I was going out on a limb with this one, the hops and malt play well, some may even consider this bottle leaning a little towards malty than hoppy (again, no bottling dates so no reference point). Verdict =>

As the label says, Citrennial blends Citra and Centennial hops in this IPA from Brandon, Vermont...
Big citrusy aroma, underscored by Centennial's pine and wood hop bitterness...
    Really nice drinking :sunglasses:

Reminded me a little of Evil Twin's Femme Fatale line, sans the brett, and with citrusy hops instead of fruits...

    Cheers
