    Doing a little pre-gaming before the surprise party my brothers and I are having for my dad tonight. He will be 60 tomorrow. We have thrown him off the trail by sending out a group text about a cook-out Sunday because some people have plans tonight and Sat. On top of that, I am going to invite him to see the new Terminator movie tonight with me and the boys just shortly after he commits to dinner with his friends. We also decided we are going to carry through with the fake cookout after we tell him tonight it was all a rouge. Double tap!

    guessing, Red Shouldered hawk. picture is slightly deceiving but size-wise, i figure s/he's too big to be a cooper's. then again, activity-wise, it was getting down on some feathers, maybe a baby turkey? (there's only feathers present, whatever the victim was). not sure but the aspect of it walking around down & on the ground i have seen Cooper's hawks do. this would be the biggest Cooper's i've ever seen.

    it nests in a large tree in the field behind our house & i believe may have a little one (or perhaps more than 1) in the nest. based on the amount of noise they make calling all damn day... my money is on "Red Shouldered"

    Had the Raspberry Truffle Abduction (courtesy of @Hopgoddess312 :wink:) and it was incredible...

    This is their coffee and vanilla Abduction stout...

    Second pour'll be warmer, but this struck me at first as rather raw or "green" tasting - think the vanilla comes off a little sharp and takes something away from the coffee... Chocolaty malts're more apparent on the mid-palate...

    And as for the aliens, it's not a matter of "if" they're gonna get ya... :wink:

    Happy holiday weekend BA's! I made it 2 days and after seeing my wife eat a hot fudge sundae and chocolate cheerios (yes I did outlast her) we are picking another month to do the whole 30. So I had some chocolate last night, thx to @antman27. Tastes just like Rogue Double Chocolate Stout to me. Gonna stick to the food part as much as possible. Except for the BBQ we are going to tomorrow. :wink:
